[edit] They updated the article and I screen grabbed without noticing. See the second image for original language. https://myfox8.com/news/north-carol...52-troopers-say-pedestrian-seriously-injured/ [edit] Okay, my bad. Looks like they got shamed into fixing the article before I took my screen grab. Here is the original: Now I’m no Perry Mason but I got a pretty good theory of what happened here. WHY CAN’T YOU JUST SAY THE COP RAN OVER SOMEONE!!! And what’s with the language? The ‘unknown object’ ‘struck the car’ (what was the cop stopped and the person just ran into the bumper?!?!). Then the victim blaming of throwing in ‘dark clothing’. Fuck the fuck off with that noise.
It's fucking nuts how far news outlets will go to make it sound like the cop barely had anything to do with something, like when they say "officer involved shooting" instead of "the cop panicked, and shot a black guy holding an iced tea." There is definitely a strong bias in favor of cops when it comes to most media outlets, even though cops generally feel the media is biased against them, which is often how bullies feel when people point out the bad shit they're doing. The American Bar Association talks about this: https://www.americanbar.org/groups/...nda-guide-avoiding-systemic-racism-reporting/
