Recent events make the pettiness seem stupid, however if anything this just reinforced how much people care about the other posters on this board, so it seems a little silly to then turn around and say that it should make people not care about other posters being banned.

For fuck's sake, I was only stating my own feelings.

Timmy...I just don't know. As you know, I wasn't there when he was there. I am simply stating what I was told.

I think it's a mistake to get into this now. Let's all just agree to leave it that there is some disagreement about what happened and whether the right choices were made. Elwood made his call, I think that's the final answer. Yes, it's appropriate to question it, but such questions aren't likely to change his mind, so I see no point in going down this path when everybody is so upset already about Techman. I'm through with this thread -- we'd all do well to step back from it for now.

I highly suggest we table this discussion for the next week or so. There'll be another excuse to get into it about how much (insert mod here) sucks and board politics and all that rubbish that, to be honest, I have no idea why anyone would even gives a flying fuck about now.

I'm sad that Techman is gone, but it just bums me out to talk about death and people who have died, especially for a week or more like you suggest. It sucks to lose anyone, but mourning him for so long just seems so depressing. I honestly didn't know him that well, never got along with him, but I'll still miss him, and a day or two is probably enough time for me to grieve.

Those of you who knew him better are free to keep mourning him if you wish, of course. Even those who didn't know him well are completely free to mourn for as long as you wish.

But if you truly think that it's not the right time to have threads like this one, no one is forcing you to read it.

It's got nothing to do with how you feel, Timmy. Tamar is visibly upset, as are a lot of others. If you care about her, don't make her deal with this right now.

I'm not making Tamar do anything. If she and others don't want to deal with this, that's fine.

For what it's worth, Goldeneye messaged me in the chat thing's PM box last night and mentioned that he was on thin ice and about to be banned.

To be truthful, I thought I *HAD* banned him earlier. Apparently it didn't take.

So I guess he must have been hassling Elwood in PM.

I would guess through private chat. You wouldn't see that.

And with all respect, this is one of those "Please use some common sense" deals that the mods tell us about. Yes, you can bitch and moan about board policy, but is it really the type of thing that the mods want to be dealing with right now? Is it worth it to add on to the headache and heartache that many on the staff are feeling by making them talk and deal with something that, in the grand scheme of things, is pretty fucking pointless? El's not going to change his mind anyway.

You're really not doing yourself or anyone who otherwise agrees with you by continuing to bring up this issue right now. Please, as someone who respects your opinions, I hope you can reconsider tabling this discussion now. If even Gul isn't willing to sling mud and raise shit, that should really tell you something about what you're doing.

If you don't want to grieve, no one's forcing you to. But most of the staff have known him for a while and this is one of those times where they should be allowed to take the mod caps off and just be POSTERS. And out of respect, the rest of us should just let this rubbish go for the time being.

OK, so you're willing to let an egregious mismanagement by Elwood's minions to go unquestioned. I mean, Listy was responsible for half of the shitstorm. He accused two members of being rapists and threatened to ban Miniborg. The drama wouldn't have been nearly as bad if Listy had just kept his mouth shut. What does it take for Elwood to fire him?
