https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crim...are-going-unsolved/ar-AAGtoc1?ocid=spartandhp Seems to me that this is big enough of an issue and it should get a lot more attention from people regardless of where you stand on the political spectrum or your party or regional loyalties. I'll admit that I don't know exactly what should be done but I would rather see this issue addressed seriously by American politicos and media than a bunch of fires in South America.
To stop random gun violence? Gun control, improved community relations with police, better opportunities for young people in the inner cities. Is any of that going to happen with the current administration? No. Will the current administration do anything about global warming and climate change including policies that help stop deforestation in Brazil and the US. No. So you see, we're addressing both with equal abandon.
Seems to me that a person as morally and ethically repugnant as @Dayton Kitchens should not be distracted by other people doing the wrong thing when clearly he could be using those judgments on himself.
Is there some trick I am missing, or is this just another dumbshit thing coming out of our idiot? Do you have any rationalization for that, or are you just throwing it around as a general insult?
Those children black, white, whatever are first and foremost Americans. American citizens. Thus their well being means something to me. It means something to me well beyond what the stupid Brazilians do to the forest in THEIR OWN COUNTRY (which isn't very smart of them but every nation has a right some of their own stupidity), After all, Americans elected Donald Trump.
Quit trying for sympathy points, we all know who you are. It is nice you care about those black children with your thoughts and prayers because those are free, but when it comes down to it you take every possibility to support and vote for people who will make their lives harder and more miserable, so you do not fool anyone with a brain.
What should we do about St. Louis? Well, first of all, don't tell me the lights are shining anyplace but there.
True but that doesn't make a difference regarding the responsibility of the country to them as fellow American citizens. Certainly homosexuality doesn't warrant being killed (or even lesser measures).
I've voted for a number of politicians over the years. I can't think of a single one I voted for who set out to make the lives of children in St. Louis harder and more miserable.
I do have to admit that KC and STL scare me a bit. Someone I used to raid with piped their radio stations onto the raid chat for music, and the commercials were terrifying. There's a man outside your house, in a bush, under your car, behind that tree, and he is waiting to break in and kill you so buy our security system now. There were multiple ads repeated with the same fucked up message. I was running a character that poisoned their blade and snuck up and cut monster's throats with skills like killing spree, and I would not have sent her stabby stabby pig tailed ass to KC because it was too dangerous.
Wasn't it either Kansas City or St. Louis which are used as examples of just how hot the infamous 1980 heat wave was? It was said that it got so hot that the murder rate went down!!
Gun control, improved community relations with police, better opportunities for young people in the inner cities These things won't happen under ANY ADMINISTRATION! How about dads in the homes? Tell me I'm wrong.
You'll never get a lot of people to support that idea in the way needed (dads in the homes). 1) Many idiots will claim that emphasizing fathers in the homes is an insult to women as it implies they can't do just as good a job of raising children as they could without having a man around. 2) Others will claim that such an attitude restricts a persons sexual freedoms as it implies a man must be responsible for the children he fathers and that women should show better judgement about the men the have sex with. Almost no one in the United States will support something they think infringes upon peoples sexual freedom.
You mean investment in opportunity zones is useless? Funny, it works in the UK, and in some parts of the U.S. Guess they're smarter than the rest of the U.S. Trust you to go immediately to sex.
Look lady, I know you're older than most of the other members here but in the real world sex is actually a pretty big deal.
Deliberately lying about what someone said and altering what they said in pursuit of that shows your utter intellectual bankruptcy.
Where do you get the idea that this is a prevalent belief? Is it one of the tropes they invoke at church when they're lecturing you about how wicked the outside world is, or something?
Never mentioned in any church I've ever been in. I get the idea from observing peoples reactions to proposals both online and in real life. Like when people opposed to abortion are denounced as "wanting to control women's sex lives"... which makes no logical sense whatsoever.
St. Louisans have a way of taking the violence of everyday life in stride… https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1048201
From the article: If you are a cop in these neighborhoods and have been there for a while... and you don't have anyone you can go to... no one on the streets that"owes you a favor" or can't think of anyone you've helped... then you're a part of the problem. Retire. Quit. Find a new career. You're not helping. The key to solving crimes in the streets is knowing the people you serve. Even the criminals. The cops there now have a hard time telling the difference between the criminals and tax paying citizens... thus the breakdown of trust.
