The media and everyone else who's claiming Putin stole the election for Trump and that he's just a puppet for him. :diacanu:

The national media is really getting out of control.

    Read this national media source:

Head of D.C. National Guard to be removed from post in middle of inauguration

Then read this more local one:

Commander of DC National guard to step down during inauguration

Turns out the Washington Post left out significant parts of the story.

    Fake news indeed.....

    From one of your links

The commanding general of Washington, D.C.’s national guard will step down from his post and retire next Friday, a few hours in to the inauguration ceremonies he spent months helping to plan.

Major General Errol Schwartz seemed to suggest he’d been pushed out of the job, to which he was first appointed to by George W. Bush in 2008, by the incoming administration.“My troops will be on the street. I’ll see them off, but I won’t be able to welcome them back to the armory.” He said he would “never plan to leave a mission in the middle of a battle.”

But interviews with senior transition sources and defense department officials suggest the timing of Schwartz departure – 12:01 p.m. on Inauguration Day – was his own choice.

“Major General Schwartz is a non-career status political appointee. As such he has tendered his resignation that will be effective January 20th,” Major Jamie Davis stated. “This is standard procedure for political appointees.”

Like an ambassador would, Schwartz followed protocol and offered his resignation to the incoming administration. But according to a senior transition official, the Trump team had not yet accepted it – and had asked Schwartz to stay on a few days past inauguration day to help ensure the event went smoothly.

Sources say that with Schwartz successor already named, the General declined to extend his command those extra days, instead stepping down at 12:01 p.m. exactly on January 20th.

    From the other link:

The Army general who heads the D.C. National Guard and has an integral part in overseeing the inauguration said Friday that he will be removed from command effective at 12:01 p.m. Jan. 20, just as Donald Trump is sworn in as president.

Maj. Gen. Errol R. Schwartz’s departure will come in the middle of the presidential ceremony — classified as a national special security event — and while thousands of his troops are deployed to help protect the nation’s capital during an inauguration he has spent months helping to plan.

“The timing is extremely unusual,” Schwartz said in an interview Friday morning, confirming a memo announcing his ouster. During the inauguration, Schwartz will command not only members of the D.C. Guard but also 5,000 unarmed troops dispatched from across the country to help. He also will oversee military air support protecting Washington during the inauguration.

“My troops will be on the street,” said Schwartz, who turned 65 in October. “I’ll see them off, but I won’t be able to welcome them back to the armory.” He said he would “never plan to leave a mission in the middle of a battle.”

Unlike in the states, where the governor appoints the National Guard commander, in the District that duty falls to the president.

Military officials and Trump transition officials provided contradictory versions of the decision to replace Schwartz. As is customary for presidential appointees, the general submitted a letter of resignation to give the new administration a clean start.

Two military officials with knowledge of the situation said the Trump team decided to accept the resignation. A person close to the transition said transition officials wanted to keep Schwartz in the job for continuity, but the Army pushed to replace him.

Schwartz, who was appointed to head the Guard by President George W. Bush in 2008, maintained the position through President Obama’s two terms. He said his orders came from the Pentagon in the form of an email that names his interim successor, a brigadier general, who takes over at 12:01 p.m. next Friday.
How are these substantively different? Which one is fake?

    What people? What convoluted technicality?

Except neither Hillary nor the DNC made the claim that Obama was ineligible. Trump carried on this theme for years as its major proponent.

The way Donald Trump is being treated makes me hate liberals, Democrats, the media and everyone on his case even more.

It is like Dan Quayle and Sarah Palin. I feel forced to defend someone I really do not like very much because I consider the criticism way over the top and unfair.

And at least in the case of Quayle I mildly liked him and mildly disliked Palin.

I find Donald Trump among the most repulsive public figures I've ever formed an opinion of.

IIRC I did oppose the whole birther thing.

Although I do believe that President Obama did deliberately string out the whole birther thing for his own reasons. To make his opponents look like idiots.

You are defending him because you cannot employ your brain and break away from your partisan shackles. You're like gturner, who claimed he couldn't ever vote for a bad candidate like Trump to represent the GOP and wanted Marco Rubio to win the nomination, but then suddenly switched to sucking Trump's pink oboe the second he won the nomination.

You claim you loath Trump. You even claimed you wouldn't vote for him (even though you most likely did). The very fact that he has turned away many Republicans, both every day voters and senior party officials and loyalists, should be enough to tell you the concern over him us not just coming from liberals and democrats. Hell, with the exception of al-right cretins, even the right wing British press like The Telegraph are tearing into him. That should tell you something.

Plus, people like me are outsiders. I don't judge anyone based on partisan nonsense, I judge people based on their conduct and suitability for office. Before AND after his election he has behaved in a manner that indicates to anyone with any experience of shouldering responsibility that he may well not be fit for an office of such global importance. But then, I can understand how you may not be able to understand what is and is not suitable for executing a job, given how all your countless firings were always someone else's fault.

You don't think that calling for a war against one of the strongest military powers in the Middle East might not give rise to countless casualties in that country? :unuts:

Why are you accusing me of lying? I did not vote for anyone for president. Wanted to write in my dad's name but write in candidates were not allowed where I voted.

    Oh well El Chup.

And yet here you are defending the GOP President-Elect for unfair treatment, when you've never done for a Democrat President.

Here you are failing to even address most of what I have said, which is about his suitability for office and why that is far more likely the reason he is getting so much heat from not just liberals and Democrats, but many others as well. But as usual, you post these threads asking questions and when you get responses you focus your replies on the elements about you and not those that address your question, because you're a troll.

    .
    Very simple reason El Chup.

And I'm surprised you don't already know the answer

Because you (and many others here) almost always respond to what I post with a personal attack or insult directed at me.

All you have to do to keep to the topic at hand is NOT ATTACK ME.

    What is that difficult?

well, there is the whole thing about the birther thing having NO actual evidence (people like He Who Contributed Half My Genes are STILL posting "the birth certificate was a fake!!!" memes with the dude one week from the exit) while Russia's actions are well established.

That said, you don't understand that - except for a fringe - everyone accepts he IS going to be president, they are simply saying "given he's already a dumpster fire, we should watch vigilantly and call out EVERYTHING because the real danger is not Trump himself, but that his presence normalizes a bunch of heinous shit"

There's a long and ever growing list of things about which it must be said "this shit ain't normal!" and said repeatedly lest we get used to it.
