WHERE are the BOSTON ACCENTS on ALL these shows that take place up in Boston?

    It's ridiculous!

The ONLY character on a TV show set in Beantown that has a Boston accent, or AT LEAST the actor is TRYING his best doing a Boston accent that I can think of is Ken Howard's character on "CROSSING JORDAN". But this isn't really anything new. "BANACEK"(1970s) took place in Boston & I don't remember ANY of the Boston characters on there having Boston accents either , especially the titular character.

    So what gives?

Funny story, but I went to boot camp with a girl from Boston whose accent was very, very flat who told me what we consider that accent really only stems from one neighborhood

The NPCs in Fallout4 represent pretty well.

makes sense. Toronto has a pretty substantial Jamaican population, but there's a distinct local patois that actually originates in Scarborough.

although on that note, even those of us in the city proper have variations. I forget if it was 14th Doc or WAB who mentioned growing up about 5kms from where I'm sitting (and have spent about half my life), but whereas they'd pronounce the first T in Toronto, around my neighbourhood, we have more of a "Ch" than a "Tuh" sound. Thinking about it, it may be a subtle nod to the Asian (and other)"Ts" sound?
