Simple question, on top of the tv or below it? Whats better?

I plugged mine in with it on top, but after maybe an hour it started not picking up movement to the left of the screen. Im thinking because the top edge of my tv is not flat but angled up. Also, there are various control buttons, volume and channel right at that point too.

Anyways, I moved the sensor to the shelf under the tv where the satalite box sits, and it all seems good there. So far.

Im hoping its a positioning problem rather than a faulty sensor bar as I'de expect I'de be waiting a while for them to fix it what with all the demand at present.

I have mine on top of my TV. I think it is suppose to sit about chest height from where you are standing.

    I hardly use this system.

Just make sure the black edges aren't obstructed and make it centered (left to right). If you get those requirements down, doesn't really matter where you put it.

Yep, it was like that on the top, but the top of my teev angles up, im thinking that may be the problem, rather than the sensor, especially as it seems to work fine done below.

Below the TV works fine for me. The Wii is actually hidden in a drawer.

Just keep this in mind: the sensor bar just has infared lights on it. The wiimote sees these lights in order to figure out where it is pointing.

If it gets TOO slanted, the edges of the sensor bar itself can interfere with the light.

Basically you just need to be sure that from any place in front of the tv you can see both ends of the sensor bar.

Also, if you don't know there is an option in the Wii menu to say where you placed the bar to make sure the pointer functionality is accurate.

I generally have it above the tv, but haven't noticed any difference so long as the view is unobstructed.

Recently helped a friend put together a new entertainment center, and when I hooked all the electronics back up I taped the sensor bar dead center on top of the TV (measured and everything). Works better now than it has since he first bought the thing.

Bought my wii from a friend and never realized that he misplaced the little plastic stand before he gave it to me -.-

Not that I really need it but it kinda irks me.
