I already have Netflix but I don't get as many streaming movies as I want. I'm trying to choose a second streaming company but am conflicted and could use some input from folks who have or have tried some other programs. My top two contenders are Amazon Prime and Redbox.
Any helpful criticism will be appreciated

Maybe you might want to check out Hulu?

Amazon Prime is pretty good, as long as you are already a prime customer. I'm not sure it's worth the extra money just for the streaming, though. It's similar to Netflix, often has content Netflix doesn't, but my experience has been that if it's something popular and Netflix doesn't have it, neither will Amazon.

From what I saw, Hulu and Hulu Plus are similar to Netflix: moreTV shows and only a few movies. And why Hulu seems to have a few more TV shows than Netflix, there aren't enough to justify the expense. At least not from what I saw.

Can you tell me more about Hulu?

I use hulu and netflix to compliment one another. Hulu is my instant gratification source for more network and cable shows like Colbert, and Netflix has all the FX shows I watch, as well as older shows that I may flip through on a lazy day or something. Amazon Prime kinda falls in between those as far as posting goes, but like gul said, I wouldn't spring for 79 dollars just for that.

Right now, Amazon Prime has Under the Dome, so if you're a big Stephen King fan, that's something that might tip you in that direction (along with the free 2 day shipping on most items ordered from Amazon).

Hulu has a lot of content, but it just doesn't make it easy for you to find. This site is a pretty good resource for who has what. Its not 100% accurate, but its the best one I've found so far for telling me where I can find something.

I've heard very little positive things about Redbox. They haven't been able to keep up with the demand, so folks find it laggy and other problems indicative of overloaded servers. Given how new the service is, I'd wait a while before I signed up with it.

hulu's commercials piss me off. it may be just because I don't pay extra for the super duper fast internet, but they buffer...a lot.

They also give me some ass about my ad blocker, but Hulu is OK for network TV shit that isn't worth paying for.
