This Saturday (Jewish Sabbath). https://crooksandliars.com/2023/02/jew-hating-extremists-proclaim-tomorrow The group launching this was part of Unite The Right, in case we needed any more evidence that there were not, in fact, "fine people on both sides".
You might not want to share photos of your family members outside of the Blue Room. Less friendly posters might use it against you.
If the last decade has taught us anything, it's that the GOP could stack shit from here to Andromeda and their base would still vote for it.
The US has long been far too comfortable with this kind of shit, all in the name of "free speech," except when that free speech was uttered by black and indigenous folks, women, or queer folks.
The US was founded on this shit, so I would say it has always been comfortable which is why woke scares the conservatives so much.
As for the national day of hate, stay in your parent's basements. It is a lot safer for the gravy seals. I normally do not go for punching a Nazi, but if they are out there rioting on a national day of hate looking to come for and terrorize the jews that would be a moment of self defense against a legitimate threat of violence, and not free speech so defend yourselves.
I have been learning how to properly use a gun. I'm going in for accredited self-defense gun training here in a month or two, once I've saved up enough money. It comes with a conceal carry license and everything.
According to something I came across that I forgot where I found it, Hitler had modeled a lot of his ideas from American eugenics and was apparently quite shocked when the US did not align with him. Guess he didn't get the memo about Americans not being overly fond of Germans after the last World War
He did indeed. Hitler found inspiration from the US and its Jim Crow laws, and while there was a popular movement that mainstreamed Nazis in the US, it died out pretty quickly once the US ramped up the war effort. Sadly, after the war, the US hired a shitload of Nazis for its scientific programs, as well as former Nazi officers to work for its new North Atlantic Treaty Organization, including Adolf Heusinger, Hitler's former Chief of Staff. So fascism and the US has had an interesting relationship over the past 100 years.
We had eugenics and outright Nazi movements here during the war. Public school history and media history redact that out now. You have to stumble into the right episodes of the right podcasts for it now. The only traces of it you can find in anything mainstream is Archie Bunker's seething hate of FDR in "All In The Family" and Maude telling him basically to go piss up a rope. They sound like a garamet vs UA fight. But yeah, history rhymes.
The Soviet Union also had a bunch of former Nazis working for them, so let’s not pretend anyone’s hands were pure. Interestingly enough, do you know who forced Birmingham to desegregate? Werner von Braun. Yeah, the Nazi. It was part of the deal to get NASA facilities there.
That's why assholes like DeSantis have pushed to remove actual history from history books, because those fuckers know what they support, but they can't work in darkness if we know.
Yeah, the USSR hired Nazi scientists, too (as did the UK). It still bothers the fuck out of me because the people of the USSR hated the Nazis. Stalin himself despised the Nazis. Yet because of Operation Osoaviakim, the USSR gained a bunch of Nazi scientists and engineers. The agreement between Stalin, Churchill, and Roosevelt was reasonable enough, divvying up materiel, goods, and resources to force Germany's payback for the shitfuckery it caused the world, but there's no way in hell I would have allowed Nazis inside my country, not for any perceived golden goose. I'm sure if I were head of the USSR after WWII, I would have seen the potential, but still, reconciling what the Nazis did with what they could offer me, a goddamn difficult choice for many, but I couldn't have done it. Also, I knew about von Braun. It's why I tell people fascism has always been with the US. That's what's so dangerous about our country, about any country with that kind of imperial ambition, that fascism is always around the corner, lying in wait and willing to be used, and it is so easily adopted in times of fear.
Possibly Hitler's American Model by James Whitman. I have it, but haven't gotten very far into it yet. Hitler felt that the U.S. had successfully preserved its character as a "Nordic" state and that Europe needed to do the same; he also spoke admiringly of the conquest of America's indigenous population.
I realize in a very odd turn of events I just made plans to go out to dinner with 3 jews tomorrow night. I better make sure the machete is in the car knowing my luck. It would be just my luck in the middle of Boca to run into a Nazi and there be no other jews around for support while I am hanging with 3 elderly jews. What are the fucking chances.
