If they were unable to remove all the fragments from his body (either bone or bullet), they could shift around and cause further injuries.

Sarah Brady must be leaping for joy. Now she actually gets to claim that a handgun killed her husband instead of just crippling him in her screeching gun control rhetoric.

Got him right square in the forehead. It was only a .22, though. I guess Jodi Foster didn't warrant a larger caliber.

Who the hell tries to kill a relatively large human with a .22 rimfire? Yes, it's possible, but it's a statistically/ballistically risky undertaking. A 357 Mag or .44 Mag would have most likely done the job, assuming the shot-placement was the same. Hinkley must have been crazy and stupid too.

but ow can you be not guilty of assault and yet guilty of a death resulting from that assault? If they were moronic enough to go to trial, the insanity argument still applies.

If they were moronic enough to go to trial? I'm not sure what would be classified as moronic about going to trial?

Because the last person entitled to an opinion on the subject is one of its victims.

Yeah, ask me again why certain gun owners are the Cause's own worse enemy.

I suddenly want a tiny Gatling gun that uses .22 ammo to exist in the world.

Forbin, you're good with tools, and small things, build it for me.

    This I command.

    A really crazy guy!
Interestingly, he was using a brand of exploding ammo that was available at the time. Hollow bullets packed with some kind of nitro powder. They were basically novelties and useless for anything except fun shooting at hard things to make sparks. None of the bullets that hit people exploded at all.

I had a lot of strange dreams last night, one of them involved finding one of those mini gatlings in my neighbor's back yard. It was indeed fun to shoot!

Also, I have a friend who is an actual gun smith -- I've forwarded the link to him.

And gatling guns are legal! They're not classified as machine guns! :)
