I'm not joking at all. The Literacy Coach said she wants to see the classes doing murals, collages, tableuxs, dioramas, and mosaics.

If we do reading I'm "encouraged" to read the material to them first.

And we are supposed to change activities every 10 minutes.

It's really not a bad idea to have some kind of change every 10 minutes. Not a total retool, just some little switch or mental break. Hell, it's not a bad idea in workshops for adults either.

It certainly flies in the face of separation of church and state. Our tax dollars should not be going for any government employee to talk up any religion.

No, he's in Arkansas, so its clearly college prep for them, no matter the rest of the world would call it.

Not to nitpick, but it's spelled "tabluex," the X in French is plural. :grammartime:

Second, considering what education is, I absolutely believe Dayton this time. We live in a world where school ban the use of red ink because people's feelings get hurt by failure, and where many schools no longer attempt to teach basic grammar rules.

And some peole wonder where the idea for Common Core comes from.

The process of learning is a science, and our understanding of it evolves over time. If you expect that you are going to teach things the same way every year, you are in the wrong profession.

Back to Muslims, this thread has got me thinking about President Obama's religion and the reason for bending over backwards.

After all how do we KNOW that he isn't going to the Mosque on Sunday rather than to church? After all, I have heard it said that everyone who becomes President has at least one body double for protection.
Maybe he is sending his double to church in place of himself.

Just something to think about and it would explain a lot.

    And another thing.

I really wish our military would bomb someone else except Iraq for a change. Haven't we got national security interests in Europe any more. For just one example.

I wonder just how many "advisors" are in Syria now? I keep hearing all this "no boots on the ground" stuff but those advisors are wearing boots. Kennedy had 13k advisors in Vietnam at the time of his death with no actual "boots on the ground".

All our troops should wear running shoes - no "boots on the ground" so Obama doesn't turn out to be wrong.

I always thought "boots on the ground" (I hate that term) meant "combat units in a country operating independent to that nations command structure".

Yeah, it's a metaphor. No surprise that the resident drunk missed the meaning.
