Why do they call it...?

    Why do they call it a "motherboard"?

    Couldn't it be a "fatherboard"? Or an "auntboard" or an "uncleboard"? Or even a "cousinboard"?

    If you have an old computer with an 8088, wouldn't it be called a "grandmotherboard"?

    It's only a motherboard if there are daughter cards. Otherwise it's a logic board.
