Those damn things are death traps. Seattle had a nasty little incident with one of those things a couple of years ago. They were pressed into service during WW II because...well...there was a war on and it served a purpose important enough to outweigh the safety risks. I wouldn't ride one.

Well, sure, but I'm not sure what that has to do with Branson. I've wanted to visit Branson, myself. I wanted to do it while Glen Campbell was still alive and in better health, because I'd never seen him in person and he often played at his theater. Same goes for Andy Williams.

I'd visit their version of the Titanic Museum (I've been to the one in Pigeon Forge, and it's fascinating), and I've always wanted to go to the Dixie Stampede (now Dolly's Stampede), because it's a dinner and a show kind of thing, and that looks like fun. Plus, they have amazing nature parks from what I've seen in images, and that would be something I would like to experience in person. Tourist attractions are great and all, but for me it's all about getting out into nature. The Smokies are beautiful, now I'd like to see the Ozarks.

Was out on the water today. I was about as worried about being out on the water as I would be crossing my living room.

I have diverse tastes in music. Everything from Gregorian Chant to Dubstep, and then some. I have a particular fondness for what would be called traditional pop: Andy Williams, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Bobby Darin, Frankie Lane, Shirley Bassey, and so on. My particular talent allows me to pick up commonalities in songs across diverging genres, and merge them into my own headspace. I will listen to anything at least once, and if I like it, I'll listen to more of it.

Branson is Vegas for geriatric white Christians and those who care for and tend to them. I was fortunate that my paternal grandparents took me to many fascinating places when I was a child. I visited NYC, Miami, Dallas, San Francisco, and Chicago before the age of 10 and many times since. I passed on their invitation to visit Branson.

Hey, I like some Neil Diamond songs, but if I were going to go see him, it'd be in an era when I could hope to score something other than blood pressure pills or didn't have to worry that the chick in front of me was going to fracture a hip when she's trying to take off her panties to throw at him. Even then, I'd put Neil Diamond ahead of someone like Andy Williams or Glen Campbell. Seriously, dude, are you heartbroken because you weren't there when this other extremely white group did this number?

Okay, if Dolly's performing, I can see that. She's pretty damned important in the history of pop music (she'd be REALLY damned important if she'd actually killed Stallone's career, but that's another matter.)
I'll take a park over a hillbilly hoedown any day.

Glen Campbell was a good singer, and a great guitarist. Andy Williams' vocals are smooth as glass. I like Neil Diamond, too. He doesn't play Branson, though.

Nah. Brewer & Shipley's original version all the way.

She is, and she's a sweet person all around.

I prefer the park, but I've been to a few hoedowns, and they're fun; lots of good people, lots of good food. What's wrong with any of that?

Wasn't Glen Campbell brought in to tour with the Beach Boys after Brian Wilson's meltdown?

Main factor? You were pressured by the Suits to make your bottom line no matter what? :corn:

That could be argued, but as the captain, he is obliged to refuse directions that endanger his vessel or passengers.

And lose his job, possibly his license, and find it difficult to find employment for the rest of his life? This is where Rationality/Common Sense/Moral Imperative hits the "Bottom Line No Matter What" wall, and guess who wins?
