So what the hell? In John Conner dies at the end of the new movie and doesn't lead humanity to freedom why should we give a shit about John on the tv show ?
Where did you get that info from? The continuity of the Terminaotr series is so jumbled at this point that I'm past caring though.
^ I actually thought the tv series did a good job of taking into account all 3 movies. But now, who cares? The fact that John is really a nobody kind of just kills the whole thing for me.
Well the TV series states that the terminator killed John Connor in the future, right? But I thought the point of this movie was a new trilogy so John Connor will be in all 3??
I've always believed that the 3rd movie (while referenced in the series, with Sarah's dying of cancer) and the series take place in different timelines. One where the Rivernator took them 10 years (or so) into the "future", and one where she never came and they stayed behind. Hell, time travel is involved...all the movies and the series may be in alternate timelines.
Continuity is a very flexible concept in the Terminator universe. You're missing the point if you fixate on that rather than enjoying it for what it is.
Yes, but the central point remains the same - John Connor is the future of humanity. I mean really - what's the fucking point if John Connor never did anything ? Why should I care about TV show John Connor if he's a nobody who dies a meaningless death at the start of the war ? Kind of makes all his struggles seem pointless ?
When was it ever indicated that any of the productions took place in an alternate timeline from any of the others?
^ That was my take as well. There is one timeline being altered, not different timelines diverging. A geeky, but plot important fact I think.
