Thaaaat's really stupid. I type with both my left and right hand, which means either thumb can hit the spacebar when necessary. Replacing half of it with a backspace key just means I'm going to be moving back and forth like an idiot while I'm trying to create a space between each letter. There's also the fact that my middle finger on my right hand hits the backspace key and it presents no problems whatsoever. No thanks, Microsoft. This improvement seems about as "improved" as your Windows 8 interface.
But it still has a Caps Lock key. The only time I hit that one is by accident. I'd rather it be an Enter key for the left hand.
I've used keyboards with that backspace functionality before (this is not a new idea). It sucked. Anyone who knows how to type with interchange which thumb will hit the space bar. Even the keyboards with the 'L' shaped enter keys forcing a small backspace key at the top right are better than a split space bar.
I honestly see no point to upgrading Windows and see Windows 8 as being the modern Windows ME which no one wants or cares about.
I actually installed Windows 8 yesterday as my main OS. I hope I don't regret it. I also intend to upgrade to Windows 8 when it's officially released. Rumor has it that it'll only set me back $40.
