It's mind blowing. They have an elected council that votes on bannings and contested warnings. If you get in trouble, you can literally request an "Advocate" to write up a defense for you before the council, which will hold a "Tribunal" per your request. It makes the TrekBBS look like a hedonistic free for all, and you can get a warning there for not liking Strange New Worlds enough.
I don't understand the origin of this thread. It's like coming into the middle of a conversation. Was it split from another thread? Goddam that banning by committee was epic. Can we bring Dayton back and have a redo?
Apparently Advocates were not a thing when Dayton was banned from SV. If anyone would need one, he would. I therefore volunteer to be Dayton's Advocate for his Wordforge trial. I'm far less close to the case than any of you, having had the bulk of my interactions with him during the Bush administration. Even Dayton deserves due process under the fake law. Free Dayton!
Didn't Dayton lose his foot or something to the diabetus? Might be bad optics to fake prosecute a differently-abled person.
