Ever since Zuckerberg got bitchslapped, these hypersensitive nannies have gone into overdrive. I got a warning last week for calling Kanye a coon and now I've got a one day ban for telling some incel pig to fellate a cactus. I'm not the only one they've been nannymodding like this. One person i know was forcebly de-friended from people who were deemed "bad influences" Meanwhile, incel groups still thrive and hate groups are still around. I've already gotten a MeWe account, so I might just move over there once I'm unbanned.
Got banned for using a racial slur and C̶y̶b̶e̶r̶b̶u̶l̶l̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶a̶u̶t̶i̶s̶t̶ insulting a neet. How horrible.
This. Instead of seeing a reduction in these things, I've seen an uptick in the number of false information, fake accounts, and scam sites trying to make it past my front door and on to my news feed.
I don't talk politics on Facebook. 5 or so years ago I decided to move all my politics stuff to twitter. I unfollowed all my news and opinion stuff on Facebook and don't post any news or opinion. Nor do I respond to it. Over time FB has learned not to show me that stuff and now FB is only about keeping up with friends and family. I feel like this was a good choice.
Facebook cracked down on alternateaccounts years back. All someone has to do is report you and then they want verification with a phone number that they will text. I know a few facebook gamers that lost their alt accounts because someone reported them for having alternates and nothing more.
It's amazingly easy to get a phone number for just such a situation. What Facebook is most interested in is "engagement." So, if you're posts get a lot of engagement, Facebook is less likely to do much about you for posting offensive material. They also don't want to boot accounts, because that impacts their growth numbers. So, blatantly obvious scammers often don't get booted because their accounts aren't examined by a human, but by an algorithm that only cares about the kind of metrics an account returns. I got so sick of being bombarded with friend requests from people using the same pic and Facebook not killing the accounts when I reported them, that I created a Facebook page dedicated to the woman who's pic they had appropriated. Interestingly, since I created the page, I've not gotten a request from anyone using that pic. I still get about the same number of phony friend requests, however.
I get them every now and then, but not often. That's probably because I'm "friends" with less than 200 people. I don't see how people that have thousands of "friends" ever find anything useful on their timelines. My Senior Pastor is "friends" with almost 1,800 people. I get what he's doing, but I choose not to use Facebook for that.
Why are you going to get multiple burner phones for free facebook games. Also a VPN does not help or matter. Facebook does not ban you for having multiple accounts on the same ip. They banned you for having a fake name. If your name on your account is not your real name and an obvious nick all someone needs to do is report you for not being a real person. Facebook then bans you and you have to prove it is you.
I got cat fished on Twitter. He was pretending to be Tom Hanks. I busted him. It was Halloween. I asked him if David Pumpkins was around. He didn’t know who I was talking about. I uploaded him the snl video of David S Pumpkins. Problem is. I screen shotted it. But I still don’t know who the ass hole behind the avatar was.
Another thing about FB: WTF is this request for "facial recognition"? Yes, I'm sure you'll explain it's a "security measure," but what else will you be using it for, hmm?
I have to admit, I did not know what Fetlife was. I guess I've lost touch with pop culture and I'm officially old.
In my case, it's to notify me when someone posts a picture of Nigel Firage. (Facebook seems to think I look like the ass gasket, for some reason.)
