Yesterday was the first day for early voting here in TN, and when I went to vote, the polling place was jammed with people. There were fewer people voting on Election Day in 2004 than I saw today. According to news accounts, the turnout today has broken records. I'm wondering how many folks in places with early voting have taken advantage of it.
Wifey and I sent in our absentee ballots last week. We have to vote absentee because we're acting as election officials and can't vote on The Day.
Nope. I'm going to be home on election day so I'm going to wake up, physically take my ass to the polls, and vote third party with a grin and a flourish. I like it when I cruise on out and the old vet manning the door states: "Marso has voted!" Very empowering. Most people don't understand how special and relatively unique our system is in human history. Too bad it's so broken and mismanaged.
I don't know if we have early voting here but it won't be a problem anyway for me to vote on the actual election day.
