The Legal Case Against the Journalist Who Exposed Kanye West’s Weird Fox News Interview

I do not know what happened, but if the person charged was in possession of data that he was not given authorization to have by those who originally recorded it then he may be guilty of hacking depending on how the data was acquired. If the data was leaked to him by a person who had authority to access the data based on their employment and secure logins to the systems they were stored on, or if the data were to have been in the open where a person might have been able to access them then there might not be charges possible for hacking. That would be up to the DA on what they could prove.

I do not know about the legality of returning data owned by another person or entity back to the person who it was leaked to if all the copies were seized. That is a legality that lawyerforge might comment on. Also, depending on the storage medium there may not be a way to destroy the data properly so any storage devices might need to be destroyed if they were infected by the presence of data the guy should not have been in possession of because it belonged to others. You could return everything but the HD and possibly any flash drive storage while destroying the rest.

Yes I hate the horrible Nazi insane twatwaffle known as Kanye west, but If you caught the person before copies were made and the data was made public I think it should be against the law to return any physical storage medium to the owner and have it all properly destroyed by the authorities. Sorry, but you accepted the contraband data and put it on your equipment. The data storage equipment should be forfeit for the protection of the data's owner even if it is scumbag kanye. Also the data needs to be protected from Kanye and properly disposed of by the state. No one should know what is on that drive so it really should just be destroyed and be done with it. I guess if there is a claim to valuable data owned by the journalist it should be seen if that could be returned by redacxting any of Kanye's data, but if the journalist was screwing around with data he should never have had I have a lot less sympathy if the state just destroys the devices and is done with it because the cat is still in the bag so to speak.

OK, so two attention whore artists have found a rather pointless and stupid reason to yell at each other and bring jews into it while lots of people are fighting back and forth about anti-semitism. Not that dubious. The music industry has worked most of the details out. There's a bit of a "let-it-slide" mentality when it comes to samples, until large amounts of money become involved. So, somebody who samples (without permission) a track and has a modest hit with it, is likely going to be in the clear. If it's a big hit, then the lawyers are going to get involved, and depending upon how things go (say, somebody's a dick), then the person who made the sample is going to be fucked.

Ozzy's got money. He might not be a billionaire like Ye (who was one for at least a little while), but he's got enough, and I'm sure there's plenty of folks in the music industry who don't like Ye, that they'll be more than happy to help out with the legal bills.

I would much rather see it go to Ozzy's spectacle and garish behavior than Kanye's. Kanye is an idiot because sharon is smart and vicious. He should have gone after someone a little less likely to come for his throat to bleed as much as they can. There is no holding that power couple back, and they are going to rip him a new asshole.

Someone should tell Kanye he should go after quiet people because they give in and don't gut you in the process. Certainly a stable genius move.
