Being against bloated, irresponsible government is not a "far right" position. Examples: Ted Cruz, Rand Paul. Of particular interest are Chris Christie's complaints regarding libertarian principles ascendant in the Republican party.
Put a more soothing label on it, but Cruz and Rand Paul will not pick up the moderate vote (which, much as you may hate it, is the mainstream American). Trying to lump Christie in with those two is...uninformed.
Where did you get the idea that I'm "trying to lump Christie in with those two"? You really need to read more carefully. Christie is opposed to those two, Paul in particular, and Libertarian principles in general.
So you're definitely not in the "smaller, more efficient, more transparent and more responsible government" camp, I take it.
I'm pointing out which of the candidates you mentioned is most likely to appeal to voters who might otherwise vote for a candidate from another party or simply stay home.
Do you have numbers or reasoning to base that judgment on? My suspicion is that you don't, and that you are instead basing that judgment on your own biases, which would mean that your biases favor larger, less efficient, less accountable government.
