You know, I read that as "time for a derp slurp? " at first. Really, isn't that what it should be called anyway? Slurp the derp away! Surely everyone agrees that the metaphorical sucking sound of a slurp is an appropriate description of the action; whether that sucking sound is metaphor for vacuuming up up the garbage or for the awfulness of the moderation is a matter left to individual taste.

In Donnie Darko terms, a "derp split" would mean that the new thread exists within a tangent universe. The thread can only sustain itself for a few weeks before collapsing and annihilating all of reality. Lanzman in a bunny costume will herald this doom.
