Dawson Creek is entirely sold out of Green Lantern Blue-ray AND DVD. I could probably stand naked on the street with a sign for one and not find it. WTH is it THAT good? So I bought Captain America instead....the peanut gallery is not pleased.
Weird... Captain America is 10 times the movie that Green Lantern is. Yet, I still enjoyed Green Lantern. FYI I just got my Blu-Rays of each from Amazon.com yesterday.
Yeah, people are funny that way. A naked chick on the street and none of them thinking of Green Lantern. Huh.
I looked online...by the time add on shipping to me (or buy enough to make it free shipping) on chapters it still doesn't ship for a week or so and might as well wait until we run into a bigger city.
Yep! I've been there. It's the southern terminus (or beginning headed north) of the Alcan (Alaska Canada Highway). I drove it in 1984 when 400 miles were still gravel. It's all paved now. 3700 miles (if memory serves me) from Fairbanks to Phoenix in my almost new Toyota pickup.
YAH! It however is picturesque but not as it indicates in the show and not only is it paved! But they even finally got rid of the party lines out where we moved about 4 years before we got here (although TELUS is such a crap company that pretty much everyone is dropping their land lines and going to cell) Lucky us eh!
Ezri, if you really want it that badly, I can probably pick it up from my local Wal*Mart or Best Buy and have it shipped within a few days. You can PayPal me. I am in Calgary, after all. Why do you live at the ass end of civilization?
every review I've seen says Cap rules in this contest. that said, get thee to Amazon and your problem will be solved.
Both Thor and Green Lantern have improved for me on subsequent viewings. It's a close race, but I think Thor is the superior film. But Captain America is definintely better than either of them. I think the studio must've underestimated the demand for Green Lantern; I had a heck of time finding the 2D Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack (had to go to FOUR different stores).
I luuuurrvvv Thor. But probably for entirely different reasons than you HAHAHAHA And yes Corp, yes I do. And that is SO sweet of you to offer!! But the hubby has an appointment in 'the big city' on Monday We are out here because my husband drug me out here kicking and screaming (literally) because of his work and eventually got used to it. My husband doesn't talk to much and everyone else talks about kids...the past few days on here has been the most 'adult' conversation I've had in 4 years!
I liked Thor. Haven't seen Green Lantern. Saw Captain America the other night...but wasn't blown away. I think my superhero movie standards are just too high after the last two Batman films.
I haven't seen the most recent Batman movie yet....the last movie I saw in theatres was the Shooter lol
Thor really struck a chord with me- the music, the representations of zooming through the cosmos, and the basis in Norse Mythology, which is far and away my favorite pagan mythos.
The live-action Green Lantern movie sucked, in my opinion. You'd be better off watching the animated Green Lantern: First Flight or just renting the Justice League series (which has plenty of great Green Lantern stories). My ranking for summer comic book movies- Captain America > Thor > X-Men: First Class > Cowboys And Aliens > Green Lantern But I suspect that part of the reason you want the Green Lantern DVD is Ryan Reynolds? Just a guess.
I enjoyed Captain America quite a bit and I thought it was much more entertaining than most of the previous Marvel efforts, including the Spider-man trilogy, the Hulks, the X men films (including first class, )Thor and, to some degree, the Iron Mans. I really like the effort put into the WWII setting and I a big fan of both Tommy Lee Jones and Stanley Tucci. The film felt more like a movie of old, rather than the modern era superhero movies. Green Lantern was shite. But still, none of them are a patch on Superman The Movie.
Ezri, even if you factor in the shipping costs I find buying from American retailers is still cheaper than Chapters, Futureshop or Best Buy. Amazon.com is usually pretty good. Barnes & Noble actually has cheaper shipping rates to Canada than Amazon and a lot of times you can find 15% off coupons online. However, their service and delivery times are completey shite. Both Amazon and B&N have HST numbers so you don't get dinged at the border. I pretty much order all my Blu Rays and DVDs from the States, mainly because they are usually $5 cheaper or more... plus I can't stand how the cover artwork gets butchered by that filthly French language. Goddamn bilingual packaging laws.
Amazon.com won't ship to me because we only have a box address, no street address - and anything I've tried to have shipped to friends in town has been at least $50! Believe me when I say that shipping is murder and nobody with UPS can ship here because then it just gets mailed out. Its a headache *sigh* But then too..so is gas so its a trade off. We really liked Captain America!
