List your favorite video game characters. For myself, I have a lot, so I'll add more later, but for now:

    Ryu (Street Fighter)
Methodical, cold, and calculating, with a great raging evil lurking beneath his calm and collected exterior. He fights for the fight itself, but his story goes deeper than that. His true struggle is against himself, and the desire he feels for letting his true power come to the surface, a power that can destroy lives at will.

    Tifa Lockhart (Final Fantasy VII)
She's beautiful, and can kick serious ass with her bare hands. Of course, you can say that about a lot of video game chicks, but I like her because she's a computer generated woman that almost looks like she could exist in real life. Square did a good job of upgrading her from the PS1's polygonal model.

    Ashe (Final Fantasy XII)
The beautiful princess of Dalmasca that lost her husband in the war with the Archadian Empire, she is searching for the artifact that will grant her her revenge. But she must decide whether to use it, and in doing so, become the evil which she has despised for a great part of her life. I like Ashe's costume design, and her overall story arc.

Seriously though, TNO was an amazingly well developed character, a rarity among RPG PCs because of constraints of the game style, and Planescape: Torment simply had the best developed story ever put into an RPG.

How about when he does that bridge thing and humps the air knocking his enemies skyward?

Which is made all the more amusing when you unlock his weapons for create-a-characters and can make various different people perfrom the motions, such as French Maids.

Not so much that, but I have a tendency to run against the grain simply on principle and in my opinion Master Chief and Halo itself are entirely overrated as far as games and the creativity of them therein, go. I've shot and killed aliens on planets before, severely limiting the arsenal I can carry and giving me a paltry storyline to boot hardly seems worthy of the attention it is getting.

Yea, until you've watched the whole red vs blue library, Halo is actually harder to appreciate. I never even played the game that much, but Red vs Blue for some reason, makes me enjoy it more.

The major reason Halo isn't over-rated is because it brought online multi-player gaming on consoles into the mainstream and got many more people into online gaming, that hadn't previously played online with a PC. That and there was nothing to ever come to the PS to match it.

Now as far as my favorite video game characters.. there is:

Kasumi from Dead or Alive - definitely one of the cutest (if not the cutest) girl characters in a video game
Reith from Magna Carta - Ties with Kasumi
    Samus
    Chia Xianghua from Soul Calibur
    Mega Man
    Simon Belmont
Shade of Aran - World of Warcraft "I'm no simple jester, I'm Neilus Aran!" - I swear my raid group wiped so many times on that guy.

Many more as well, but it's too early to think of all of them.
