    Mu sister loves him - but then again, she has a thing for the dark meat. :flow2:

    I've heard a few of his songs, and they are pretty good.

    I've been really impressed with this new band called The Band Perry. I like almost all their YouTube songs. Here is a guitar-bass-mandolin performance they did for a radio station:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8O3tftkwsA#t=1m35s
    [YT="Postcard From Paris - Unplugged"]O8O3tftkwsA#t=1m35s[/YT]
    EDIT: Scrub to 1m35s of the video. Link to specific time doesn't work with embedding.

    There is their commercially produced version here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trnJPGfDQss

    But I like the unplugged version a bit more, even if the sound quality isn't the best.

    Another unplugged song I like from them:

    Oh some say I'm crazy, a little loco,
    and most of my friends will live and die in this zip code,
    it might be for me, but until I go,
    how am I, ever suppose to know....

    Love them! :smitten:

    I can't think of any current country singer I can stand except King George.

    I guess you people don't keep up with modern music, but Kid Rock is making some damn good stuff.

    Song he does with Uncle Kracker:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06WM8oLH87M

    [YT="Uncle Kracker - Damn, It Feels Good to Be Me"]06WM8oLH87M[/YT]

    Favorite line: "Bought some cheap shades at the Amaco station - They make me feel like I'm on vacation." :techman:

    I got his new album Born Free, and it has a very old school rock feel to it. Here's another song I'm playing a lot while driving:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3SAmh7eHjE
    [YT="Kid Rock - Purple Sky"]J3SAmh7eHjE[/YT]

    If you like this type of music, the whole album is filled with songs like this and is pretty damn good, IMO. That's two albums in a row Kid Rock has delivered.

    Agreed, but Limp Bizkit is just a nudge more on the dial worse.

    You guys are comparing Kid Rock with Limp Bizkit? :wtf:

    If you hate Kid Rock, it's probably because of his personality or the rap crap he made early in his career. I disliked that too. There is nothing wrong with his last two albums.

    The major thing wrong with Kid rock's work is Kid Rock's lack of vocal talent. I cab allow that some of it is written, arranged, whatever in a pleasant enough fashion but dude can NOT sing.

    At all.

    Yeah, shortly before this latest album of "duets" was released, I heard a radio show that just scorched him on his singing ability, or lack thereof.

    They played a few snippets of the songs and, once the "duetee's" part started, it was pretty clear who could actually sing and who couldn't. :lol:

    This one is definitely my favorite Carrie Underwood song, and maybe my favorite song this year. And it's buried far into her most recent album. (Song #7 I think.) It would be a shame to not have a video of it or if it gets no airplay.

    Some of the best songs by different artists never appear on radio.

    Yeah, there's a reason he started out rapping. If he'd started out singing, he'd still be in Detroit, hustling blowjobs on the street for change.

    the one thing he ever sang that I'll listen too without racing to change the radio is the thing with Sheryl Crow a few years back, whatever you call it. It's not at all anything but average - but average is an astonishingly accomplishment for him.

    Same here. That was a pleasant surprise. When I first heard about it, I thought, "Wait, what? The Dude? Rooster Cogburn? Sing?"

    Yeah, they both did an excellent job.

    'New' chick that I am pretty impressed with: Ashley Monroe:

    [YT="Ashley Monroe - I Don't Want To"]fqBNPTRMJMw[/YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqBNPTRMJMw

    [YT="Ashley Monroe - Satisfied"]lCBFKkAla6Y[/YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCBFKkAla6Y

    The way she sings reminds me of Dolly Parton. The first song was uploaded in 2008, so I'm pretty surprised I've never heard of her, since I started listening to modern country music around that time. I like the first song I posted and the 2nd song is ok, but thought it would be something the people here would like better. The only reason I discovered her is because she is now in a country group called Pistol Annies with Miranda Lambert (the girl in my current avatar <--- ). Not sure why she isn't more famous when lesser talents are.

    Another two songs that have been on my playlist lately:

    [YT="Eli Young Band - Crazy Girl"]J3HwFtdVTfM[/YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3HwFtdVTfM

    [YT="James Otto - Since You Brought It Up"]B8e5GcnKzRQ[/YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8e5GcnKzRQ

    I like a lot of stuff by James Otto.
