Fuck Greyhound for not demanding a warrant. And especially the driver who is either too fucking dumb to know peoples' rights or outright fucking lied that non-citizens couldn't ride the bus.

But reading the comments it wasn't Greyhound it was another bus company. Also it wasn't ICE it was just the border patrol. Regardless, if it's the bus company's policy to prove citizenship to ride it has to advertised/promoted/distributed/written out for every potential customer. But more importantly every employee of that company needs to know and follow and enforce the rules for employees and customers. Kind of a "no shoes, no shirt, no service" thing. You want to go shirtless, patronize another place. A bus is public transportation like an airliner. You want to fly, you have to follow the rules.

They have a right to ask and you have a right to simply ignore them and refuse to answer. I also wonder if doing this in Maine was in response to Canadian requests. The reason I am guessing is that Canada has recently been flooded by fakers claiming asylum and it has become a political hot potato in Canada. A lot of them are people who lost their temporary protected status after grifting on that for almost 20 years so now they don't want to go home and are hoping to grift off Canadian taxpayers.

I doubt that is true as several people in the video refused and the report did not mention anyone getting kicked off the bus.

When I went on the cruise to Alaska we went on a train excursion that crossed into Canada. The train stopped and Canadian border patrol got on the train. Completely lacking in humor, the lot of them, they checked all our passports. It was serious business for them.

For people who are not as dense and ignorant as Chup. Canada has indeed asked the U.S. for help in reducing the flow of would be asylum seekers and I was wondering out load if having boarder patrol checks near the Canadian border might be one way they decided to help. As most of the fakers probably do take a bus to the border that sounds like a reasonably hypothesis.

As I have said many times, legal immigration is a good thing. Illegal immigration should never be tolerated and fraudsters should always be rooted out and punished.

Let me explain a bit of basic international law to you. If a person legitimately flees a warzone and persecution in the manner many of these people have they qualify as refugees under the 1951 Refugee Convention. That means they should be granted asylum in the receiving state. That means they aren’t “illegal”.

Don’t try and lecture a 20 year veteran immigration lawyer about immigration. You don’t have a bloody clue.

Since we are on the topic of illegal aliens and fakers abusing the asylum system it is worth noting Merkel in Germany is likely going to have her government coalition fall apart in the next two days specifically over this very issue.

It turns out the recent high profile wave of young German girls getting raped and murdered by fake refugees has turned a majority of the public against Merkels open door polices and now even her allies in Bavaria are turning on her.

There has been at least three high profile cases such as this in recent months and it certainly has the SCI demanding action so much so there is talk about them leaving Merkels coalition unless stronger measures are inacted. You can call that a fantasy all you want but it is one the front papers of half the newspapers in the western world.
