I haven't tried this, so I don't know if it works, but supposedly, if you use a VPN and set your location to Albania, Moldova, Ethiopia, or Myanmar, you'll not see any ads. I know what you're thinking, "WTF? Myanmar?" Yeah, I don't know, either. I had a YT video of mine get taken down due to a copyright issue (which was bullshit) reported by North Korea. No shit. Iran also filed a copyright claim against another video I uploaded. Yeah, I don't get it either.

The combination of using Firefox and uBlock origin on my desktop and kept up to date seems to work fine at the moment. I haven't seen a warning message from Youtube in weeks.

I haven't had a problem either and did the same thing. I wonder if YT was just testing something out and realized it was a mistake.

Well, the good people behind uBlock Origin have been working extra hard to keep up with Youtube's bullshit, so that's part of it.

This sounds about right as that is what I have been using and have never seen one of these messages.

I just heard about this recently. Ad blockers are making their software undetectable by sites like YouTube.

I think youtube tried to fuck with Ublock Origen this week.

I still have not seen any warnings about having to disable my adblocker, but the site was having trouble for a while on my PC and not on devices where I do not have an adblocker. It cleared up pretty quickly. So far no damage.
