    :(

i loved the musters - and the weird thing was if you asked me who played lily munster a few moments ago, i couldn't tell you straight off, yet as soon as i saw her name in the thread title i thought 'lily munster!'

She was cool in The Ten Commandments. Supposedly a really nice lady, too.

Damn. Herman AND Lilly are gone (yet Grandpa just keeps chugging along(?) )

Gilligan and the Skipper have croaked.

Bones and Scotty are pushing up daisies.

    I'm getting old... :(

Yes, she was what they used to call a "voluptuous hottie." :) Al Lewis passed away last February. He was a couple of years older than her. A lot of people in the business believed that he fudged on his age to be able to work more, and that he was in his early 90s rather than his late eighties when he passed. I try to be thankful when people pass of natural causes, because that means they weren't sick or infirm. It's a blessing to be healthy until the end of your days, or so my grandfather used to say, god bless him. If you can get up in the morning, get dressed on your own and tie your shoes, you have more blessings than many people already have. He was a cantakerous old coot until he passed away at 91. Thank God for his health.

I know what you mean about all the pop culture icons you grew up with passing away. sigh You have to enjoy life while you're here. What else can you do, really? You can't worry about what's to come.

Actually, Al Lewis (Grandpa Munster) passed away last year. (edit: Oops, MoulinRouge already pointed that out.)

Yvonne DeCarlo was a beautiful, beautiful woman. And she had some serious acting chops, too. This is indeed a sad thing.

I loved the Munsters, and Lily was one of the best things in it. She made it seem so normal...

I used to LOVE watching the re-runs of this show when I was younger. I always thought she was pretty, but seeing her OUT of costume makes me realize how beautiful she really was!

heard about it last night and imidiately fired up the Munsters DVD's. What a great talent she was. She was in the middle of a movie career, but her husband at the time was very ill so she took the Munsters job to get a regular income. It certainly worked out well for us.
