I'm moving into my new house. [BTW, if you don't hear from me for a few days, that may just be sorting out getting Internet up at the Fox's Lair.]

I almost brought the computers along, but space and time were limited so I left them at the old place.

Got everything moved that won't fit in a Mustang, came home for a hot bath and a nap (I'm getting old :( ). Then my phone told me about a Christmas party.

Unfortunately the major details appeared to be on Outlook. On my desktop. :garamet:

So I grabbed the box, the basic I/O devices, and relevant cables. Plugged it all together, flipped the switch and...it did nothing. :clyde:

Took the cover off and blew out a years worth of dust and golden retriever hair. Power strip lights up. Motherboard lights up. But nothing. Thinking the box is confused by the missing scanner, I hook it up. For laughs I hook the printer up too. Still no joy.

Actually, not entirely. I noticed that the inside fan on the power unit would spin for a second or two. Monkeyed about with this for a bit. Next I started moving plugs off the power strip. Once I put the LCD monitor onto a different outlet, she came back up.

So now that you've sat through the entire boring screed, what does this mean? Cheap shitty wiring in the house? Cheap shitty powerstrip? Or is the 8 year old power supply getting ready to shit the bed? :calli:

PSU is about to die and take the rest of the system with it.

Spend £30 and get a new one fitted.
