16 = minor depending on the state. 18 = Adult in all states. Depending on the state it very well could have been child molestation while in other states it would be covered by Romeo and Juliet laws though I wonder how the 10 year length of the sexual molestation would play out in a court.

Well yes, I would think it's still molestation or some form of sexual assault. More likely at such a young age he wouldn't be punished, more likely a slap on the wrist and a stern talking to. Fast forward to puberty and you can bet your ass he would have been punished.
