Okay Zombie, here's an interesting op/ed by Medved where he argues many of the same points that some of us lying liberal types have been pushing for a few years. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323665504579033220194883160.html Republicans shouldn't block immigration reform Republicans should work to fix Obamacare Republicans shouldn't shut-down the government Republicans should undertake the work of legislating/governing Republicans fail as a national party because they are the "party of no" Now maybe he's lying too, but he's a Republican, with a solid history of conservative thought and activism. He's somebody who gets it. I wish there were more Republicans who did. This block everything, do nothing approach is a worthless waste of time.
No one should be calling what's been proposed "immigration reform." It isn't. It's amnesty. Obamacare is fatally flawed and can't be fixed. That's why Obama and his cronies refuse to use it. Republicans aren't proposing to shut down the government. On the other hand, maybe they should. A government as fundamentally corrupt as this one has become should be shut down. That government which governs least governs best. When the answer is, "Should we screw the American people even harder?" the only ethical answer is "No."
Who? I don't know about this other person you're talking about, but one thing I don't embrace is bullshit rebranded and presented as anything other than bullshit. Take amnesty, for example: It's already been done. And it worked out so well, too. Same "pathway to citizenship with eligibility criteria" bullshit. Same sanctions against illegal hiring bullshit. Same everything. Now what was it Einstein said about doing the same thing and expecting different results? What we need is real immigration reform; specifically, immigration enforcement.
Hey, I don't rebrand my bullshit. My bullshit comes in three flavors: Bullshit, Extra Crispy Bullshit, and Fuck You, This Bullshit's Goin' In Yer Eye.
You know what Zombie will say. "Medved's not saying the same thing you people say even when he uses the same words, because you people are liars with every word."
People only say that about Statists because Statists lie with every word. If y'all didn't do that, nobody would point out that y'all do that.
And since "Statist" when you use it means "anyone who doesn't agree with me," the term is innately useless.
...an advocate of Statism. Which is you and gul. In gul's case, so obvious is his advocacy of statism that it's a fervent, almost desperate sort of thing. In your case, I suspect it's due to a lack of any fully formed personality of your own.
Geez, and I thought I kept up on pop culture. Last I knew, Michael Medved was a really lame film critic who wasn't fit to carry Leonard Maltin's Trapper Keeper, much less Ebert's. When did he become a right-wing radio rockstar?
Yeah, the Golden Turkey thing ended in the 90s when the became Limbaugh's most regular guest host. Castle: when you redefine a word to a meaning nobody else uses, your use of the word becomes useful only in demonstrating your own vapidity.
Beats me. I've never even heard of him. Then again I never know what's happening with talk radio until liberals bitch about it
Ah, but it's not pointless. He specifically staked out the position that people making the points Medved makes were lying for the sake of tricking Republicans in to making bad choices. This is Zombie's thing, he needs to step up and tell us whether Medved is also a liar. Then I've got a half dozen other Republican writers to throw at him, many with much better non-RINO credentials.
Ah, see that's a different and similarly insidious issue, mischaracterizing somebody else's statements. Your crude efforts propaganda won't fly, boy.
