Does Your Religion Affect How You Post? I'm self-centered for answering a question supposedly asked of everyone? Next time you only want certain people to answer, make a damned list of who they are.
Paranoia strikes deep Into your heart it will creep Starts when you're always afraid Step out of line, the man come and take you away... Where, oh where did I say you couldn't answer? I just find it entertaining *how* you answer: You seem to have the roles reversed here. What mysterious power do you perceive that I have to "silence" anyone?
Hush, now. You're only going to make them call you a n00b and point out that you're in the red. These things are important to them.
Of course you didn't say I couldn't answer. You simply said that by answering I think it's all about me. And now you try and mock and belittle the false position you've placed me in. There's no paranoia when what your doing is plain for everyone to see. Don't play stupid. And since no one is ever banned here simply to silence them, you look more moronic everytime you imply I'd do such a thing.
We're all very proud of you for learning a new insult every week, but it also helps if you know what the word means.
Well, please show me where I ever said "God told me fags are going to burn in hell." Never said it. Never used the word "fag" as a descriptor. Ever. In fact, I have always stated homosexuals are no worse people than heterosexuals. Once again, you are proven to be a liar.
Yes. OK. Actually, no. It affects how I behave when I post. I'll type up a screed, look at it, chuckle sadly and think "yup. I'm definitely goin' to Hell." *click*
Lots of people talk about religion online, but its mostly bullshit. I bet most people claiming to be Christians can't even tell you how many of each kind of animal that Moses took on the Ark.
^It would be fun to test them on that kind of thing, wouldn't it? Twelve years of Catholic school here. No longer a Christian (though it took TNZ to teach me that some "Christians" don't consider Catholicism to be Christian ), but I can quote chapter and verse with the best of 'em. But that would be trolling...
Church of England upbringing, which is the nearest thing to state-sponsored atheism that exists outside of Cuba, and I'd still back myself on the bible against anyone here other than Bulldog, Shep, and Async...
My religion has nothing to to do with how I post, unless you consider megalomania a religion. I'm not here to represent anyone, so I manage to piss everyone off.
Really? What did you mean by "You must have our roles reversed"?? What other magic, mysterious way do I have to silence discussion that you don't have? I'm sure the universe will burn out and a new one will begin before a straight answer is given here that isn't some weasley double-talk that is nonsense or a foot-stamping version of "I don't gotta answer meanies!".
Old Sunday School story. A little boy came out of Sunday School with a skeptical look on his face. His mother asked him what was wrong. "Our Sunday School lesson today was about the Ark. Our teacher said it could hold a lot of animals, that it took Noah years to build it, that it was as big as a cruise ship and that it had enough room to hold 522 boxcars. But I don't believe it." "Why not?" said his mother. "There is just no way that it only took two priests to carry it over the Jordan River on their shoulders!"
I am not devout by any means, but I do uphold a few basics of the tenets of my religion in my personal life. When I post here then of course it isn't necessary that my religion influence me in any way. I will defend my choices and my religion, but I won't be influenced by it whilst posting here.
See, that's the kind of thing I'm talking about. How deep is your religion if it doesn't influence how you treat other people?
^It's interesting. I know a bunch of Muslim people and they range from extremely liberal (dating, drinking, partying with strippers) to ultra conservative. I knew one dude who would get all pissed off if you made even the smallest joke about the religion. He was really touchy.
I think that's fair to say about any religion, except possibly Buddhism. Again, going back to what Shep and you said - it's who you start out as as a person. Then the religion is the next layer around that. If there's nothing in the middle, that outer layer's gonna be pretty flimsy.
