There are real and medically identified structural differences in the male and female brain. Thus, just as pre-natal malfunctions can and do produce phsical birth defects - cleft lip, mis-matched "plumbing", club foot, whatever - so too the physical organ of the brain can be affected by such a malfunction.

However, there is no natural process whereby nature can "program" you to think you are a vulcan or a vampire or a cat.

I do agree with you to a point. I do think that when you have children you do take on a responsibility to them that precludes certain things that you might want to do. They did not ask to come into this world, they had no choice. I do not know well enough all of the details of this case, so I will not pass any judgement on it. I just want to point out that the decisions we make (like having kids) does effect our freedoms. I have little kids, so my wife and I cannot go out drinking every night.

I know for a fact there are 2 other M2F in this little town, and a few other borderline cases. The myth that you can easily spot a transgender is just that. Yes, many never get to where they pass, but a great many do. I've not taken even the first hormone pill yet, and have a LONG way to go but if I go anywhere outside my county and shop or whatever, I'm pretty much NEVER read (insofar as I'm able to tell) except on occasion on my voice. And a LOT are FAR more passable than me.

If there are 2-3 you know about, I'd wager there's easily 10-12 more you don't.
