Aye, but with stipulations. I don't know about CA but females are not allowed on Tactical [-]PsyOp[/-] MISO Teams (TMTs). We had some female 37s in our PDD (Product Development Detachment), but not in any the Tactical Detachments. In fact it was a couple of these females I knew that went to the first of these Selections and got picked up. They actually go out with ODAs and while I haven't heard this from one of them directly, from mutual friends even CAG has grabbed them for a couple missions. I would imagine just for SSE and TI after it is all over.

I started to write a very snarky and sarcastic post. Then I realized that I was being very disrespectful to some very brave people to defend a joke that really wasn't all that funny. These are brave dedicated women who are putting themselves in harm's way to defend my useless ass. They're signing up for a life of hardship suffering. I forgot that and I apologize.

The joke is funny. And I respect these guys, too, but I also know that they're some tough sonsabitches who can take it.

It's the new WF meme. Post something stupid, get called on it, insist you're right waaaay past the point of credibility, then announce it was all a joke.

Oh yeah? Well you're a cynical shithead who painted himself into a corner and played the "we honor our veterans" card to slug his way out.

How do you live with yourself?

Depends on the situation P - some combat situations upper body strength is a pretty damn big issue.

That being said, there's plenty of situations where it isn't, and plenty of jobs in the military that need doing. Sounds like the OP is an excellent example of that.

I was wrong and to the people I slighted with my disrespectful joke I have offered apologies. You on the other hand can go fuck yourself.

I live with myself by owning up to my mistakes. I live with myself by not being a picayune louse like yourself. Who's unable to graciously acknowledge a mea culpa.

True. I'm a churlish, boorish, cloddish, uncouth lout.

Could you explain the "joke" part to me though? I still don't get it.

You're also too stupid to realize that you are not an aggrieved party here.

Even you should be able to figure it out.

And you really ought not talk. You're right up there when it comes to people who, when caught in a mistake, will not only refuse to admit it, but will attempt to deflect, backtrack, dodge, or claim they were only joking.

Why do I have to be aggrieved? Can't I point a finger at you and laugh without being aggrieved? Haven't we already established that I'm a beastly brute?

Oh that. Yeah, you're right. That wasn't very funny.

Citing the party line, I see.

When I am actually wrong, I've admitted it.

What I will not do is play into the tendency on the part of some people here to deliberately misrepresent what I post.

"Oh, yeah, you said such-and-such, but what you REALLY meant was so-and-so. FTFY."

Not playing that game. Now run along.

No, I'm just annoyed to see someone acting morally superior when they really aren't any better or are actually worse themselves.

    Keep dreaming.

I'm not the one acting smugly superior to John Castle or sandbagger here, you are. I could have joined in if I felt like it, but since I don't know shit about the subject, I've kept quiet since my generic declaration that I think women should be treated equally to men in the military in response to one of them seeming to claim that allowing women to become "special operators" would somehow make the military weaker. When it comes to you, I just couldn't help but roll my eyes at the smug superiority you were attempting to pull off when you aren't any better at the whole not owning up to it when you're called on something.

You can be more than one thing little guy. I realize that's a difficult concept for your wee little brain to grasp, but it's true.
