Interesting- I don't follow the comics anymore so I didn't know that was going on in the comic world as well; all of my Batman collection dates back to the mid and late 80's.

Essentially what's happened is that Bruce Wayne has come out as being the money and tech backer for Batman and crew, and franchised out the Batman image and operations worldwide. He hasn't come out as being The Batman, who is essentially the CEO of Batman, Inc.. He(as Batman) is the primary recruiter for new heroes under the general brand name in various cities throughout the world.

Just got back, loved it. The "Kid you are in for one hell of a show..." was straight out of Dark Knight Returns. :techman:

I was worried that laying siege to a city wouldn't seem plausible, but they pulled it off.

Just got back from it too. Damn good movie.

Watched it in IMAX, and the sound is so fucking loud that my ears were ringing when I walked out. Jesus.

The dialogue is hard to follow at times, but like I said, a damn good movie. Worthy of a few billion in sales.

Saw it yesterday. Overall I enjoyed it, probably as much or more as the last movie, though Batman Begins remains my favorite.

    Nitpicks:

    More objective:

Admittedly, any flaws aren't substantial enough to ruin the overall experiance.

Incidentally, I'm actually half-way curious if Nolan is a member of SCN or at least visits there, because both the basic plot lines with Cat Woman and
were put forward when discussing potential villains for the next film there shortly after the last movie came out.

The big metal thing in the back of the truck was anchored down. You could see it on one of the shots.

I think what I appreciate most about this whole series was how they treated the source materiel, as well as the audience. All the little call backs to the previous movies, and the consistency. They didn't need to have Dr. Crane playing judge, but they did and it was awesome. Makes me wonder if Bane would have let the Joker loose for fifteen minutes of fun if Ledger hadn't died. Hopefully the Nolanverse is finished as they claim, I don't want to see it watered down by someone else.

In comic book canon, Talia loved Batman and got pregnant by him. She left the child in an orphanage without ever telling him though.

Actually, there are several versions of the story because of DC and it's continual crisises and altering shit for fun, but the seduction scene probably implies that if the Nolanverse continues Bruce may have a child in nine months.

Finally seeing it tomorrow. First time since the Batman and Robin I haven't seen a Bats film on opening day. It had nothing to do with the shooting of course - events requiring my undivided attendance came up. I remain unspoiled - so fucking hard - aside from the one about Fox being Bruce's father. Didn't expect that. So no one shoot up the IMAX I'll be at or I'll be damn sad!

That may be, but it's not in the movie even if the movie is based off of this somehow. So going by what's in the movie, I just don't find it believable that she'd seduce and have sex with him if she hated him, especially since the sex was after she'd already gotten the McGuffin that she wanted from him.

I can say with certainty that this is impossible. Of course, there were other impossible things that happened in the movie, so if that was the case this would just be one more item on my list of criticisms/nitpicks.

Some parts of the movie move really quick, but it was already almost 3 hours to begin with.

I think Nolan did the best he could have in the time he had.

Honestly though, I blame the IMAX 'experience' for ruining a lot of the story for me. When its so fucking loud that I have to plug my ears at certain times, something is wrong.

    My ears are still ringing.

The soundtrack overpowered the dialog more than once even in the regular theater where I saw it at. One can only hope they fix that for the DVD release.

Couldn't resist...saw it a third time tonight. That'll probably do it for me and the theatrical run. Can't wait for the Blu-Ray!

A few things noted this time:

But, loved it again. I still think it falls short of TDK, but not by as much as on first viewing.

But it's still the origin of Damian Wayne... Who, unlike his father, is willing to pop a cap in a thug's ass.

All I can say about the Dark Knight Rises is that I would give good money to just watch the Bat Pod turn around again and again.

Thanks for the warning! I'm going to see it in an IMAX next week. I'll bring earplugs. I hope the music (or explosions or whatever) don't drown out the dialoge - I can't stand that! BTW tickets for four people were a total of 36 dollars. That's not a bad price for IMAX...right?

Not bad actually, but is it a real IMAX? The place I was at was like a knockoff.

    Okay, caught up.

    Loved it.

Apples and oranges with Avengers, there's no comparing.

Sss...I dunno, lotta people say it's not as good as 2, I'm with Demiurge, think I might like it better.

I think people just can't let go of Heath Ledger.

    Everything else has been said...

    Catwoman, great.

    Bane, awesome.
I'd put him right up there with Ledger's Joker, in fact.
In fact, Bane makes a better counterpart to Joker than Penguin.
    Screw Penguin.

    Great performances from everyone.

    Nolan is a god.

And, sound levels in my theater were just fine. ;)

Fifty feet high and seventy feet wide. I guess it's a normal IMAX.

The National Infantry Museum at Patriot Park on Fort Benning includes an IMAX theater, the first of its kind in the Columbus area. The screen is 5 stories high and 70 feet wide. They play regular movies as well as 3D movies. In addition to Hollywood productions, the theater also shows movies that were specifically made for IMAX, such as Everest and Mysteries of Egypt. The price is $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for kids (or $8 and $6 for the IMAX films).

    Bane had some great lines...

"Calm down, Doctor. Now's not the time for fear. That comes later."

"Peace has robbed you of your strength! Victory has defeated YOU!"

"Theatricality and deception, powerful agents against the uninitiated. But we are initiated, aren't we, Bruce?"

"I'm Gotham's reckoning. Here to end the borrowed time you've all been living on."

    "I'm necessary evil."

(asked his plan) "Crashing this plane. With NO survivors."

"We both know that I now have to kill you. You'll just have to imagine the fire!"

Oh, you were able to ascertain what Bane said? :garamet:

I was really upset with that. Also, with the parents who thought that bringing a kid who motherfucking COUGHED and GASPED every 30 seconds would be a good idea. :ua:

Made me want to enter through the front exit and start cappi.... nevermind. :calli:

Yeah, it was really hard to understand what Bane was saying, but he did have some damn good lines.

Tom Hardy is a great actor. I might even forgive him for 'This Means War.'
