So doing well on a standardized test on the subject matter, means you are a Highly Qualified Teacher of that subject?!?!

Wow, no wonder our education system is where it is. :/

    What a joke.

And for the record Dayton yes I think you are a bad teacher.

I didn't come out and say it because my troll joke was more amusing.

What else would you suggest? An arm wrestling contest?

I love how people denigrate the importance of passing professional tests but would never dream of hiring a "lawyer" who had never passed the bar or "just barely passed' or the same with a surgeon.

Of course, I've no doubt that if I were the lawyer or surgeon in question there would be people here bringing it up.

Amazing that so many people cannot deal fairly with someone they don't like.

A lawyer who hasn't passed the bar by definition isn't a lawyer yet.

What it comes across as, is that meeting the qualifications to teach a subject comes across as being superfluous when given an a title such as "HQT" when all that is required is meeting the minimum qualifications.

    Knowing X /= Ability to Teach X.

Look, you obviously are semi intelligent. You read a lot, you retain a lot of it. HOWEVER if your behavior online is any indication you have NO social skills. None. No ability to even understand how to get along with people on the most basic of levels (witness your inability to hold steady employment).

Now if you can't grasp how other people think, how the hell can get them to learn?

People here aren't challenging your grasp of the material (although some might claim your ideological slant is an impediment), mostly we are challenging your ability to teach. Countering that with crowing about well you did on a subject matter test completely misses the point and actually reinforces ours.

True. I "kicked ass" on my CCNA exam, which is proof, by Dayton's standards, that I'm a good network engineer.

I've never engineered a real live network in my life. I haven't so much as turned on a switch port. Only on simulators.

But I'm good at it. I have proof.

Well, when my wife heard about "Asperger's Syndrome" she thought I had many of the symptoms.

About two years after that, the wife of the head coach I was working for at that time (she was an upper level education specialist herself. the kind that get paid serious money working as consultants) after observing me while on a trip to a football coaching meeting suggested that I had Aspergers.

I used to believe it but I'm really not buying it anymore. The symptoms are too vague and can have all types of unrelated causes.

Common belief now is that I suffer from UPPD.

If I was reediting and modifying the effects of The Undiscovered Country, I always wanted to show some Klingon ships in the vicinity of Praxis getting caught and destroyed by the massive shock wave.

The physics and geography (what's the interstellar version of geography?) of that movie are really pretty terrible. An explosion that generates a shock wave big enough to rattle the Excelsior god knows how many light-years away, and it doesn't completely annihilate the Klingon homeworld?

Well who knows how subspace shockwaves work.

Of course I would also add some starships in orbit at Khitomer that brought the Klingon and Federation leaders to the planet.

Small starships perhaps which would explain why any Federation ones did not come to assist the Enterprise and Excelsior.

    Exactly.

I'm an arrogant son of a bitch. I honestly believe that I am better than most people. I'm serious. I really do believe that. I look down on most everyone.

However, In Real Life I am known for being laid back and the easiest of people to get along with. I've had THREE different organizations PUT IN WRITING my ability to get along with freaking everyone. It's almost a liability as I'll get partnered with straight anti-social douchenozzles, and half my job will be to be be the medium between them and everyone else.

It's not fucking rocket science. It's called just getting the fuck along. You put the mask on when you go out in the world and you play the game. Who cares if on the inside you actually loath someone, if on the outside you can work with that person and get what you need out of them?

It's not a medical condition or any other kind of condition. I's not a choice either. It's a nonexistent diagnosis. He's either making it up or he's seeing a quack who's stealing his money.

There was nothing in the dialogue to indicate Praxis was in orbit of Qo'Nos, only that it was a Klingon moon. For what it's worth, "Star Trek: Star Charts" places it in a system close to the Klingon-Federation border.
