This is nothing new. Been happening since the beginning. Most recently O2C did this last year when Clyde went full retard and started fucking up threads.

And it's not like the posts are being deleted or 'discussion' being stifled. The derp-railment is preserved and people are free to join in. Heck might even boost discussion as people who didn't want to join in the dogpile b/c they didn't want to further the derailment now can and people who didn't want to post in the original thread b/c of the derailment now can.

And I have no intention of posting in a "derp" thread to satisfy some mods view of how a thread should run its course and how posters shall post in said thread.

The Red Room has always been whatever we made it. A big-ass BBS with thousands of members and hundreds of active topics at any given time needs a lot of active intervention to keep it organized and keep it from being like taking a drink from a fire hose. Wordforge is smaller, always has been. It's the dive bar where you hang out with your friends. The back booth in the bar doesn't need a social director.

Also keep in mind that in the past there used to MUCH more warnings and mod/admin interference. Heck it used to be a warnable offense to post Media Central content in the Red Room. Do you really not remember that? Just b/c the mods and admin are trying out ways to keep the place from becoming TK doesn't mean that it's all of a sudden not Wordforge. We've always tried to walk the line between as much leeway as possible to foster debate and discussion without going so far as to be a spamfilled wasteland. That means that at times things change. For example telling people to 'ignore the noise' may work out fine when the signal/noise ratio is 70/30 but when it gets to 40/60 it might be time to reassess the strategy.

On one side of things, you're proud when they do things like sit. And wow, he sits about 3/4 of the time I tell him to, which is great, because hey, we've had him less than 48 hours.

But even with the taking him outside five minutes after he drinks and about every half hour otherwise, there are still surprises. Like the poop sandwich I stepped in barefoot this afternoon.

Overall, I think he will make a great dog. He seems very intelligent and trainable. I wish I had more experience with dogs this age because I'm not sure how much you can tell about them from this stage.
