Clyde turning quasi-evil surprised the hell out of me. I always liked him, and thought he was just a great guy.

I suspect this. Remember those threads about his "buddy" being completely shit on by his girl?

I thought about that. For some reason I always pictured Clyde as an older gentleman but the past couple years he started to seem very immature indeed.

Yeah, when "trolls" like Face or Flashy or pricks like WAB (the likable version) or Chup (not so much) are the most interesting thing in RR by a good margin, against a backdrop of a left wing circle jerk, with threads as old as 24-48 hrs on page 1 (over a week old on MC), who can figure scarceness of such long-time members as Paladin, frontline, Wayno/Caboose ?

It's gotta be them, right? I mean, we're fuckin gods.

If there is not enough content, certainly some of that is on the people who took their ball and went home, don't you think?

Yeah, we've banned every problem child from Polarslam, who still holds the record of warnings at over fifty, to Face , to John Castle and yet we never get rid of the drama. It just gets shifted to another poster like Dayton or Poodle.

Um. Ever watch tv without drama? Where there is no conflict? Is it fun? Do yours to tune in each week to see people talking about the news and what they ate?

Drama, conflict, a foil. There needs to be that on WF to keep it interesting.

Sure every now and then a villain needs to get killed or defeated. But when you've killedall your villains it's time for the series finale.

    Should WF be cancelled?

Pssst. We're on the same side. ;)

My point that didn't translate too well is we can weef out all the bad apples until pretty soon we've become an echo chamber that eats its own. Much like what I've seen happen at the Godawful Fanfiction board where soon only the nastiest of uber feminist liberals remained by the time it closed.

Idk about Scorp, but as for Tamar, that's dead on. When there is one owner only she could play Grima Wormtongue, but with 4 it was impossible.

The impossible - tone down the loony left.

Or you could just reinvent people from scratch. [But not you, that'd just make things worse.]

    You miss my point:
too much competition for loony left pov, you can find that anywhere, why come here for it? In fact, the WF brand is actually inferior to most of the market.

A product without a customer?, who would guess that business would slow? [few on the left, that's for sure.]

So, instead of being a place where folks can speak their mind, we should become a place where only certain folks can speak their mind? How's that better? Nor is it all that difficult to find places where the right wing voice dominates, so I don't think muzzling one group is the solution.

This presumes that Wordforge is trying to compete with places like DailyKos and AlterNet. We aren't. We are a small, intimate community that likes to talk shit about politics and Star Trek. People who come her looking for a particular political spin shouldn't. They should have the balls to contest what they think is wrong, rather than slink off whimpering about an oppressive majority.

When it was left-wingers getting run off, they were "blood belching vaginas".
When it's right-wingers wandering off in a snit, it's some principled stand.
