This is if you say being gay is some sort of genetic predisposition on its own. Now there may be a genetic predisposition to a gay or straight preference, but I will say most people are born bisexual and are taught to be straight as a social device. The fact is that sexual stimulation in most people is indiscriminate as most people can be aroused by either gender when unaware of which gender is arousing them. Hell, most people can be aroused by synthetics that have no gender because of tactile response.there for it becomes the thoughts and teachings that make a person repulsed by what would be something they would be aroused by if they were unaware of gender. In this way you will never eliminate homosexuality as a practice because gay sex is arousing without the psychological content of being repulsive.

What a gay gene is referring to is a genetic preference. I like strawberry over chocolate ice cream. That is probably a genetic hard wired preference where the stimulus of the strawberry flavor is preferred to chocolate. So that preference may be so strong that in every case their is an option I would chose strawberry because of the stimulus I enjoy. I might even pass up ice cream if no strawberry alternative is available. Chocolate ice cream might even repulse me. These may all be from a genetic preference and feeling. Most people fall somewhere on the middle of the scale so there is always going to be people who eat chocolate ice cream even if you made everyone genetically predisposed to liking strawberry.

What you are actually referring to is can we make people genetically repulsed to homosexuality. I do not think that is possible as many gender constructs are psychological and not physical. You would have to go down the road of making physically negative responses to tactile input. You would have to get something that your body can sense that is male and female and then make it rain repulsive while also making it so intimate men and women could work together with their own gender. For instance if you made female pheromones repulsive to other women so they would find intimacy physically painful you would not be able to work in the same area. You would have mother's being physically unable to be near their daughters.

Thank you for your knee jerk SJW response but times have changed and we no longer need to be afraid of discussion of something that has Merritt in understanding how homosexuality works. While it may be true the boy may be gay hating, we have come to a point where questions like this can be answered and not just ignored because we are afraid of homophobes.

Also this idea that there is a gay gene that makes people uncontrollably gay has always been a stupid idea made to counter the idiocy of the God argument. At best a person my have a preference to tactile physical feelings from a male or female body type. One might prefer hairy people or people with less body hair. You may prefer to be penetrated than to penetrate. The asshole may be preferred to a vagina. You might prefer to be the smaller person embraced to being the larger person embracing. These are all physical preferences which are more likely from one gender to another. I am not saying it always works this way, but you may be looking for those things. You may also be physically repulsed in a tactile way by some things. The feeling of a beard may be scratchy and annoying so you might search for women first as they are most likely not to have a beard. Also being penetrated might be a revolting feeling for you so You seem out women.

It seems to me that a lot of gay feelings are psychological in nature. You may prefer a certain visual body style. This is not a physical preference as it is visual and psychological. If you were blind a tit is a tit. We learn a lot of our preferences, and psychologically we can be turned off by these preferences we learn. In a way it would seem that most homosexuality is learned, though that may not be a choice, it also may not have a physical component, or it may be loosely linked to a physical component.

So thanks for the help Mr SJW who wants to just attack the boy, but please do make a call out thread next time as we do not need your help in discussing this. As for the boy, yes it is probable this thread may have had malicious intent, but part of the way we change attitudes of bigots is through honest explanation. Some may never change, but seeing the swing in acceptance in society people respond positively to decent explanation rather than fuck you you stupid homophobe. The boy may actually want to understand something he cannot get an answer from locally because everyone would hate on him for asking.

The idea of curing someone once they start to learn preferences as opposed to removal of the preference on a genetic base cannot happen in place of each other. So once a person is born and learns to appreciate the same gender in a romantic way you can no longer change the genes to eliminate that because that preference has roots in how the brain associates things. You also cannot bring psychological adaptations to an informed brain because the brain has not started making those associations at that point in time. Cells will not have started differentiating at that point so there is no difference in what might become a brain cell or a skin cell.

What can be accomplished from a psychological standpoint is a potential programming of the brain. This does not seem to work in all cases. Some people may be able to be made to be gay or straight throughout mental raping. I am going to put it as what it is. You are imposing your views on their personality. That does seem to be possible, but it also is psychologically damaging in almost every case. So in your quest to guide them in one area the damage seeps into other areas of the personality. Younger children might be more receptive to this, but because of how it works the damages in other areas would be made greater due to the reality the brain would be developing associations based on a damaged base.

What can be accomplished on a genetic level might be to make the person either more pleasured by the desired input, or to make a sort of allergic reaction to the same gender which would make negative physical response to tactile contact with the same gender. The latter has huge social problems that would arise due to it happening. You would break apart human ability to work together with the same gender. As for enhancing the physical rewards for certain attractions that also borders on being destructive as we already have people who get too caught up in romantic feelings and become violent over it. It also would not eliminate homosexual pleasures. It would just make them not as good as straight sex, and we all know you masturbate even though you may find sex better so people are still going to enjoy the lesser pleasures if just for diversity.

As for it showing up in something like star trek it is happening. Gene Roddenberry did get into the ideas of attraction in a few episodes, but it has to be done correctly or else it comes.off like sailor moon says and people do not want a psa in the middle of their story to be so blunt.

Given some of his more thoughtful questions I think there might be a desire to learn from the source rather than from people who have spent a large amount of time making things up and have little to no experience with the glbt community. I have met a number of southern men and boys who have a beef with how they were taught the wrong thing about others by the people they trusted as friends, family, and in the community. Though he may not like the implication, he might grow out of his ignorance about certain things.
