Conventional wisdom is that Obama will pardon Clinton and Abedin before he leaves office.

If he pardons Clinton then it means she must have indeed committed a crime for which she needs to be pardoned. Then she will be exposed as an actual no doubt about it criminal - I don't think she nor Obama wants that in their legacy.
