Oh god, Trump winning has turned Tererun into a voice of reason, and Michael Moore into the smartest guy on the left. I never thought I'd live to see the day....
Oh he knows it quite well, too. Why do you think he can't make a post without slamming Chup or me for "lying" about his racism? We got so far under his skin, his entire Wordforge existence revolves around it. He's still ranting and raging (several weeks worth, now) about something I never said about affirmative action. The guy's a complete nutjob; and hateful and spiteful to go with the lunacy.
He is a long time poster there for 15 years or more. He originally was a far right neo-fascist who literally wpuld rave abput his desires to throw liberals out of helicopters only to disappear for a few years, come back and announce he was a gay socialist. No shit. He also was declaring the same over the top nonsense and making predictions about Hillary sweeping 40 plus states. His melt down last night was epic after reality hit him in the face. It is a web forum dedicated to the Civilization game series.
I'll break my duct of not replying to you on this occasion in view of your post. For me this election is not just about Trump and what he can do. Much like Brexit, this decision is not just about people voting for a candidate they think will address their concerns. These victories have been underpinned by a percentage of the electorate who want to take us backwards. That percentage is made up of selfish people who want the world to reflect themselves and their interests. People who are shit scared of change and anything that presents a threat to their idealistic little worlds. Bigots who can't handle anything other than the old status quo. But those people are in denial about the direction of the world so they launch a backlash against progression. It's an effort to protect the ideas of small town America, little England and rural Europe. Isn't it interesting the direct correlation between the people that prop up political decisions like and their general lack of exposure to people and ideas that they don't consider to be aligned with their own idea of normality? This shows what happens when good people stop thinking and succumb to fear. When good people stop being good. Right now there are victims. Victims that these people don't care about. In the past 24 hours I have heard from black Americans expressing dismay at the election of a candidate who was openly supported by white nationalists. I have read dismay from Hispanics at the thought of a President who has previously described them as racists and criminals having a direct hand in the future of their lives and families. I have seen American, and indeed non-American, women fear increased misogyny and an increase in inequality. I have seen (obviously) transgender people worry about their rights. I have seem Muslim American women on social media saying their fear for their safety and they are going to stop wearing hijabs as a result. I have seen Jews concerned at the backing of groups like the KKK and the use of anti-semitic sentiments by Trump in the closing days of the campaign. I have seen worry expressed by gay Americans who are concerned that marriage equality might now be under threat. And do you know what? Fuck any straight white male American, whether you voted for Trump or not, who sits their and says "he won't be as bad as you think". Yeah, he won't be that bad for you. But don't speak for those who were targets of hate, division and bigotry during his campaign. Don't speak for those who live in a country where tens of millions of people voted for the candidate who sowed those seeds of hate, division and bigotry and now find themselves living in fear. Fear for their safety, fear for their children and fear for their futures. I'm not prepared to let the children of today grow up in a world of fear and hate. Why are people the world over now destroying what the generations before us fought for? Freedom, liberty, equality, fairness, justice. Basic human dignity. Have our memories become so poor that we do not remember what our grandfathers fought for and against? Have we learned nothing that we will start becoming the very thing we are meant to oppose? Nah, I'm not giving up the fight. I think the world today is more full of hate than I have seen in my adult lifetime. It's more important now more than ever that those people who truly believe in freedom and liberty come together at a time of darkness to provide a small beacon of light and hope. For every Hitler there is an Oskar Schindler. I may not have great power and influence, but I can do what I can to add my voice to the fight. That is the least any good person can do. Hyperbole? Meltdown? Over the top? Couldn't give a shit. I'm gonna say it anyway.
Again, you're listening to stupid people and reflecting their idiocy. You start off pretty well with But then you veer into a ditch. Other than the "again" in "Make America Great Again", which implies a repeat or return, what is this opinion based on? For example, most Hillary supporters all wanted to take us back to 1992, the last year she could be described as "having so much potential" instead of "corrupt evil harpy bitch." The rest of Hillary's supporters wanted to return to 1968 and just stay naked, high, and smelly. In contrast, most Trump supporters want to be part of the avant-garde of the fashion world, following Ivanka's lead. Others want to hit longer balls, or establish a society where it's no longer okay to rape interns, loot government property, and take tens of millions of dollars from Arab monarchs in return for letting their 7th century peers throw gays off buildings and crucify Christians. And then you just get wackier and wackier. Or maybe they just don't want to be overrun with semi-literate unskilled refugees who steal everything that isn't tied down, depress wages, and spike crime rates. Maybe they don't want their streets flooded with drugs. Maybe they don't want 50-year old men in tutus following little girls into the restroom. Maybe they despise the corrupt and dysfunctional status quo and want to tear it down. Or maybe they just don't buy into the fear that the Russians are controlling our elections, that half of all men are serial rapists (that just applies to the Clinton family), and that Donald Trump is going to grab their wife's pussy.
Is this really coming from the man who mindlessly parrots blogs and the partisan line? I don't need to be lectured by you. You've been demonstrating for months that you are part of the problem with your readiness to promote hate and division. You can't even get basic facts right or post with any level of honesty. I'm not wasting my time replying to your garbage in any detail. One thing I do look forward to though, is your inevitable shovelling of bullshit once Trump fails to deliver on the things you're most looking forward to. Oh, and if you think Trump isn't gonna stay in bed with Saudi Arabia, then you're deluded.
Wow, that was a whole lotta "Who Gives a Shit?" Anyone who cares for drama at other boards can go to TBBS or TK and egg Castle on.
I don't get your blasé laissez faire attitude about it, because it strikes me you, of all people, would have reason to worry.
And yet I don't worry. I feel optimistic and even elated. What does that tell you? Am I ignorant? Misguided? How does your mind resolve such an ostensible incongruence?
I think I've set out conclusively why in my so called "meltdown". So you've done it. You've shown the political establishment the middle finger. Brave new dawn. Hurrah for the little man! But at what cost? Hatred. Prejudice. Sexism. Fear. Division. That is the cost of Trump, irrespective of whatever he actually turns out to be, so is the fact that he has had to rely on the religious wackos, alt-righties like Alex Jones and other such undesirables to get where he is also a terrible cost - and these are people he will not be politically indebted to and will have to give back to (after all, he has one as VP). That you cannot see any of this is what makes you ignorant and misguided. That you can't see, on top of that, that the people Trump has relied on represent a direct threat to the rights of, among others, the LGBT community, of which you claim to be a part, is what is deeply disconcerting about your attitude. What you display is the very selfish attitude I described about. You don't care about others and their rights when it doesn't impact you. You only care about yourself. It's just ironic that most people like you start crying foul as some as something starts impacting you personally.
I care a great deal about others and their rights, which is why I support Trump. The real Trump, not this fictitious uber-villain you see in your head.
His mother must've really did a number on him. I mean, Trump has his flaws, but it's not like there are bund meetings ready to break out and start rounding up Hillaryites for the work-yards.
No, no, no. The Real Trump. Ya know, the one where "grab 'em by the pussy" means "gently pick up your lady companion's small feline pet called Tiddles".
But you had Brexit, which left millions of Londoners afraid to leave their homes and tens of thousands of them murdered in the streets because of divisiveness and ancient racial hatreds (The Welsh hate the Anglo-Saxons who hate the Danes who hate the Scots who hate the Irish). Ministers have to enter Parliament through metal detectors just so they don't kill each other during Prime Minister's Questions. British society has completely broken down, with lawlessness the only law left in the land and now butchery and buggery have become the norm. All because the British hatred of the French, Germans, and Dutch, which have left them running on raw emotion, fueled by the outrageous bombastic diatribes of Theresa May. That you cannot see any of this is what makes you ignorant and misguided. That you can't see, on top of that, that the people May has relied on represent a direct threat to the rights of, among others, the Jewish community, of which you claim to be a part, is what is deeply disconcerting about your attitude. What you display is the very selfish attitude I described about. You don't care about others and their rights when it doesn't impact you. You only care about yourself. It's just ironic that most people like you start crying foul as some as something starts impacting you personally.
Maybe you should read what he actually said: When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people. Some Mexicans illegally crossing the border are rapists, not all.
I'm sorry that Trump wasn't born a perfect human being like Hillary or yourself. But thankfully he is human with the capacity to realize mistakes and grow.
Arthur Chu is the fuckwit SJW who dominated Jeopardy by not staying in the same category for two consecutive questions.
I have seen a lot of the very same things you have in the past couple of days, and I agree wholeheartedly with what you said. It is true that the common people do not have the loud voice of a Donald trump. However donald trump will not be there when we engage with the community. We are here with our friends, family, and communities. We do outnumber the prejudiced people's. We can make things better locally and realize we are better able to handle such hardships when we have the support of our friends and neighbors. We are the people on the ground, and when Donald trump hurls his insults from afar, and his people join in the hate, we are there. It may seem silly or awkward, but now is the time when we need to speak to the others in our communities and bring a personal message of welcoming and unity. It may be wrong that people apply the ideals of the deplorables to the silent masses, but it happens. Right now silence is.seen as advocating by the victims of these messages. So we need to find ways beyond protests to embrace the people who are different than us and let them k ow that their differences are most often things that enrich our lives through variety. We are not having a meltdown. We are powering up and understanding the importance of this fight. You woke us up with your grandstanding, and we will make sure your message only resonates within your bubble.
Yes, he is hurt and disappointed. We have to show him our good side. I cannot blame him for these feelings because I think the good people have been too quiet. This has allowed negative things to be what he sees. I am going to make an effort to be united, and I will understand and forgive those people who have been hurt and may not trust me
Reasons to care, just from the top of my head: - Consequences for US involvement in NATO & attitude towards Russia (concerns mostly eastern Europeans) - Attitude towards global (!) warming - the TTIP free trade agreement, if your in favor of it - the faith-in-humanity issue, i.e. frustration with the fact that in the most advanced nation on earth, so many people are willing to ignore facts and go for pure, raw emotion while making such a decision - a long-standing desire ot feel morally superior to you guys I'm sure there's plenty more, both rational and emotional...
You go Chup! But now nobody else can have any kool-aid because you drank it all apparently. This will teach the US to vote against a thieving scheming career criminal.. If Hillary represents "progressive" that shows me all I need to know about your values.
On a tangent to this, all of the gay supporters I'm met for Trump were white guys, most of whom could pass for straight. I'll let you draw your own conclusions from that.
Why do people think hating Trump means supporting Hilary? It doesn't. The millenials refused to sell out their souls when they figured out how crooked the DNC was and didn't buy the hype of "this election is too important" that's been shoveled in every election I've lived through. If anything good comes out of this, it's that the Clinton brand is finished and at 77, she'll be far too old to consider running again in 2024. You're right...the DNC needs to fall. So does the GOP. But unlike you lot, some of us weren't willing to forgo every shred of decency to make that happen.
