Wasn't it Democrats and those on the left making threats about massive protests and possibly violence in the wake of George W. Bush's victory in 2000? I was at the TrekBBS then before I was purged and I'm pretty sure there were a number claiming that Bush would need federal troops to protect him on his way down Pennsylvania Avenue.
I imagine there's a gray area between you where most of the country stands. Sadly, that's not good television. :-(
A few things, just because it's you, and then I'll pull myself out of this impending dumpster fire of a thread before the flames get too high. You like to bring up "Shep" so I assume you remember that guy well. Remember what you used to troll him about? That whole toxic idea that his religious doctrines ought to be enforced on everyone else by force of law for their own good? Remember how you ridiculed that? Yeah, see, that was pretty much the only time in the history of this site that you had an actual point. It's kinda sad that the only way you can define yourself here is be being the opposite of me, because when my eyes opened to how wrong I was then you had no choice but to flee from the highest point of your Wordforge existence. So now the very thing Shep wanted, the thing you claimed was evil, is upon us and because of your drawn-in-crayon trolling method you're stuck with defending it. Say what you will about me, then and now I had the integrity to defend a position I actually believed in, rather than doing some childish dance. But lest anyone think for a nanosecond you have any sort of a point: The few "rights" we were just beginning to have will indeed be snatched away. Recognizing one's gender identity as one's legal sex under Title VII and Title IX were major, the former protecting trans people from discrimination and employment and the latter making it possible for schools to accept trans students without being forced into abusing the because ignorant parents in the community stirred up shit and made those innocent kids a public pariah. Also, HUD regulations were being employed to begin to protect us in matters of housing (in places where HUD regs applied). The State Department was granting appropriate passports without requiring surgery (because not all trans people are able to get surgery) and Medicare decided to cover transition related treatment, with indications the ACA would lean on private insurers to do likewise. DoD decided to allow trans soldiers to serve openly. All that goes away Jan. 20. Mike Pence and his Pharisee allies will run wild on any Obama policy helpful to trans people (or gays) - it is quite literally the apocalypse for us in terms of the respect we were beginning to garner via increased visibility and favorable government action. Finally, as for the women's room - there was not a direct Federal policy on that in a general sense, but the Title VII decisions would protect that while on the job. That would, along with trans kids at school, be the place where flipping the polices will hurt us on restrooms because an employer (and school admin) has direct power to harm the trans person if they do not comply. But outside work and school (neither of which apply to me as I don't work an inside job with a common restroom with other employees) - out in public? I'll continue to use the women's room up to the day I'm confined in jail for the offense. As will the overwhelming majority of other transitioned trans people. As we always have. From time to time one of you assholes will physically assault one of us for it. That's a price I'll have to risk paying. I won't try to educate you on why that's not ever going to be a problem for anyone because you don't seriously believe a single thing you ever post here and I'm weary of the pretense that you do. The foregoing was not for you but for actual serious and mature passers-by who might see your drivel and take it seriously. In conclusion - piss off.
it's a persona for a message board. Notwithstanding there are a few homocons out there (Milo for example) who've deluded themselves that Trump won't REALLY fuck them over on the way to Making America Great Again. But you, you're probably just fucking around.
Here's the thing I don't get in this cycle: Kerry and McCain and Romney and Bush and Obama and Bob Dole and Bil Clinton and Hillary Clinton and all their respective VPs - yes including Sarah Palin - were "flawed candidates" - hell Richard Nixon and Barry Goldwater and Jimmy Carter and all the rest, too. Trump is something else altogether. And it stuns me that seemingly intelligent rational people, disagree with them as i might (Tuttle for example) look at him and say "Yeah, he's not great but he's not a monster" He actually really is. The list of things which are objectively true of Trump which, any ONE of which would have ended the candidacy of any previous nominee of either party, might run to a thousand words or more. And conservatives - not the "deplorables", not the Pharisees - just ordinary regular old every day people who can't conceive of the idea of ever voting for a Democrat, let alone a Clinton, just hand-wave all that and tell themselves "eh, he's not so terrible. How bad can it be?" It can be a LOT worse than you're willing to let yourself see. Best case scenario is that Trump does NOTHING of consequence except rubber-stamp Pence, who ends up being the one who actually runs the administration. That will suck on ice for people like me that his Pharisee crowd hates, but otherwise it will be more or less another Bush Administration. That's if you are counting on the fact that Trump does nothing but makes speeches, gives away hats, and chases pussy. Anything he does other than that makes things worse. No matter where you stand politically. But that's not even the major problem - Trump himself might, in and of himself, be benign, but the - yes, they really are - Deplorables who think his election affirms their raw, naked, poisonous hatred and are not "on-steroids" across the countryside is a cancer on our culture that will take generations to reverse. And no shallow right-wing victory on tax cuts or gun control is ultimately going to be worth what has been set lose.
Poor fuckhead (Chris or whoever you're replying to). He's had a serial liar filling his head with lies and now that he's faced with reality, he can't cope with it. Why would Trump round up the faggots? What does he gain from it? Best I can figure is that it prevents them from interfering with his tacky ostentatious gold-plated T decorating style.
Oh, and el Chubbie, you're not American, and you're not French, so you really have no reason for using the Statue of Liberty in your avatar. Why not go with a toothless chap fucking a sheep? Or an incompetent lawyer?
@Chris hasn't posted in this thread. I'll feed the troll on one point though: I have no reason to believe Trump will round up women, gays, minorities, or illegals. I doubt he'll find it politically advantageous; I'm sure there will be enough in the House and in the Senate to object and block any such attempts, even if surreptitious measures pass. Instead, it's the people who voted for the president-elect who feel empowered to step out of the shadows and enforce what they perceive to be their right and privilege to harass and intimidate the groups their candidate derided during the campaign that worry me. A couple examples that a close friend of mine told me about: and, to me, "They all think it's ok to be assholes now, like the dude I heard when I was picking up milk saying it was legal to grab all the pussy he wanted now" Regarding the first, my friend relayed that on Twitter from her friend's post on Facebook, which got deactivated after trolls told her she's 'being too sensitive'. So while I can't corroborate the account, I can link to this. Even if Trump turns out to be a decent president, what makes it remotely ok for this shit to happen, for people to treat others like shit? This is what he unleashed, what will be part of his legacy. This is what his voters don't want to acknowledge. This, to my understanding, is what protesters are protesting across the country, shutting down freeways in Portland's case. Why they're unhappy with Trump winning the election, legitimately as it is.
This. Trump won, he's the President in a few months. Okay. Not who I wanted, but it's done. On this end, I can work to mitigate damage, and hope to help the people I want to get elected the next time around. The problem isn't actually Trump anymore. He got what he wanted. The problem is the people who think it's now okay to spray paint swastikas on school buildings and that "niggers go home!" is something that can be said in public and get approval from the community. THAT is a problem that needs addressed, because in a peaceful transfer of power, citizens should not have to fear being threatened with death for being black, gay, hispanic, transgender, or Muslim. That shit needs nipped in the bud pronto.
Really? You're down to the retarded garamet "who is this 'Margaret?'" routine? Goddamn, you doubled down on the Kool-Aid, didn't you. Enjoy riding your scooter to Burger King.
Funny, the only example of hate speech I've seen spray painted on anything was "Die Whites Die" from one of these "protests."
My name is not 'Chris'. I don't reply to it. If you're going to address me by name, you should do so by the name I prefer.
From what I've seen, Trump supporters are alternating between refusing to acknowledge the ugliness they've unleashed, and reveling in it.
If I close one eye, your sentence doesn't have a predicate. Doesn't mean you didn't write a complete one, does it? Just because you don't see it, or have turned a blind eye to it, doesn't mean it isn't there. http://www.latimes.com/nation/polit...rump-north-carolina-1478822255-htmlstory.html http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/clout/400560361.html http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...raffiti-greets-trump-win-across-usa/93584210/ http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2016/11/09/racist-pro-trump-graffiti-maple-grove/ http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/edu...l.html#incart_most-read_warren-county_article There are a lot more, but these have been getting a lot of airplay on the news.
Precisely because you're a complete moron that you fail to understand what the statue represents - and one doesn't have to be American or French to recognise that. That's why people like you are an embarrassment to your flag.
Don't worry, it's perfectly fine to play the same game. Just respond to him as "Twat". After all, it's far more accurate than "Chris" is for you....
Some measures have already all but passed. I know because I get notifications of federal employment. All women are going to be rounded up within the first six months of Trump taking office. Since I'm on top of such things, I got my pick of assignments, and I'll be in charge of one the women's re-education camps for 17 to 25-year olds - ones who have no eating disorders, from families with incomes of over $250,000 a year. I will teach them how to respectfully fetch me beer. Some of us well know how to thrive in your fantasy world.
If there's a fantasy world here it's the one in which you think your "jokes" are anything more than groan worthy.
Cognitive dissonance. Everyone has an internal story that makes them the good guy, and most people will bend reality inside their head like jell-o to make that story stick. Owning up to voting for a bad man doesn't register for them as "oops, I fucked up", it registers as "I'm bad", and they can't countenance that, so someone else has to be bad instead. Handy survival mechanism to aid decision making when we were ape men on the savanna, not so great for civilization.
It's the same thing with racism. People don't have much of a definition of racist beyond "evil person," and of course they're not evil, so they can't be racist.
No racism has a specific definition which far to many people willfully ignore so they can call people names when it does not apply. Hint: Someone has to give a shit about race to be a racist.
Just saw this. My two immediate reactions: 1. You spend a whole lot more time thinking about me than I've ever spent thinking about you. 2. You take yourself far too seriously. You ever stop to consider that your entire identity is built around being a victim? First you were a victim of the atheistic secular world that was oppressing Christians and restricting your rights to religous expression. Now you're a victim of conservative religious bigots who are trying to oppress you for living an alternative lifestyle. Victimhood - it's what's for dinner. Oh, and as a sidenote....I don't assault people. So lumping me in with your imagined group of "assholes" that will eventually tranny-bash you is false.
