It means that trying to act as if the election means some vast repudiation of the Democratic party is ... well, basically horseshit.

:bullshit: We don't elect the President by popular vote. Again, Republicans won big time and this all started with the TEA Party wave of 2010. Obama and Clinton's policies were rejected. Any other election and people would be agreeing.

@tafkats, if your premise were true then why did NBC and Chuck Todd, Democrat schills, agree on election night?

Can you guess who came up with the idea of the electoral college?

Hint: There's a Broadway play about him.

This may be a little late to the thread, but theater has always had a bit of a political subtext to it. Certainly not every play, but when it's in full force it can be extremely powerful. Think of The Crucible for example. This is even amplified with television and film. Hell, think of Star Trek for example.

I understand why you disagree (or at least don't support
it). I am rather on the fence about it myself, but I'm falling on the side of freedom of expression. I sympathize with the actors but it may not have been the best choice. Nonetheless they used to tools available to them.

It should also be pointed out that the actor-audience relationship is entirely different than the attorney-client relationship. Attorneys have a legal responsibility to their clients. Performers have no such responsibility.

The beauty is that Trump knows how to play these swine so they cheerfully cut their own throats. Every time a libtard whines about how Trump is sexually attracted to beautiful women or wants to keep the country safe from terrorists and multiple felons, Joe the Plumber goes "Fuckin' A. :techman: "

    "Butthurt"?

    We.

    Won.

    You.

    Lost.

    :diacanu:

Butthurt is spending a week burning down a town so liberal that Hillary probably won by double digits in it. That's showin' 'em! :enty:

Butthurt is when you perform a play and instead of performing a play, you ruin it for everyone that paid for a ticket to vent your butthurt rage.

My only regret with this whole election is that no matter how hard Vice President Pence tries, he won't be able to turn you straight. :(

Yes, that's a problem. Liberals keep taking The Crucible as a how-to legal guide. :nono:

I'm surprised the anti-Trump students haven't been piling rocks on pro-Trump students chests.

    Ruined for whom, exactly?

And the Democrats wouldn't be saying the same thing had they won? Not to be simplistic, but it's like your favorite fighter losing. Once both fighters get last minute rules from the ref (which they have already received countless times before other fights, and the rules rarely change) and the fighters touch gloves and the ref says "fight!" it's on. If your fighter uses a shit strategy and gets outperformed by an opponent that does not break any rules and has a higher "fight IQ", they lose fair and square. If there is a rule that many do not consider fair, future fights might be affected and your fighter's fair & legal strategy might not work then. But for THIS FIGHT your fighter lost under the current rules.

Was Hillary under the impression that she didn't need to win the most electoral votes to win? I think we would have heard about this by now. Matter-of-fact I'm sure of it. Dollars-to-donuts if you as a voter don't know that the president needs the most electoral votes (what part of 270 don't they understand?) to win you should take a class or two and find out. So bottom line - Hillary was the much, much more experienced opponent and used a failed strategy and (spoiler alert!) she lost. She lost because she thought she had the swing states/battleground states in the bag and didn't think she needed to seek their votes. No matter how you spin it, this is a fact. A rookie knocked out the champ because the champ got sloppy.

So far, ahead of schedule in his transition compared to president elects in the past - pretty good for a transition "in turmoil" according to the left. So he's already being focused on plenty - thank goodness nobody gives a shit about what left leaning media sources claim since Trump and the American voters exposed them as biased hacks.

Not too far ahead of any schedules, really. That's a popular talking point among Trumpistas, but do you have a side by side comparison of him and others? If not, then shut the fuck up with that and stick to things with evidence.

Also, we'll see how well the schedule holds. If he keeps appointing people so unacceptable that even 30 years ago Republican Senators saw them as too racist for Federal positions, he may be in for some tough confirmation fights right out of the gate.

Since he's not a career republican he will have a lot of opposition with his choices - I'm sure he expects that. True though that the career republicans (and democrats) are well aware that even the perception of racism (whether true or not) is a huge liability in federal service. I have so far 30+ years in federal/government service whether military or as a federal contractor. The person perceiving racism has no burden to prove it - the accused racist has to provide the proof that they are not a racist. Yes, they have the responsibility of proving a negative. Not complaining, just explaining for those of you who don't really know how things really work in the federal environment.

I'm not an "expert" I just have a shit-ton of hands-on experience with how one segment (a very significant section) of the government functions. I'm sure all of us are subject-matter-experts in their fields. So give me some brief specific questions so you can offer your opinions on my answers. I'm going to the store so I won't answer (or attempt to) until later this evening.

There's should be equal time. We were denied a full season of SNL featuring every Republican candidate. Bobby Jindal would've killed.

BTW, Pence just said in an interview that he wasn't offended.

And now Trump is bitching about SNL.

It's pretty clear who the grownup in this administration is going to be. And I suspect Mike Pence is going to spend every second of the next four years hating his life and wishing the tantrum-throwing toddler in the Oval Office would shut the fuck up and stop embarrassing him.
