Between Superman appearing on Supergirl, and the JSA on Legends of Tomorrow, let alone coolness on The Flash, I'm pretty locked in to the DCW this fall.
I am absolutely astonished that DC approved Superman appearing on a TV show concurrently with live action movies. I've seen a few clips with the TV Superman and, while it's fun to see him in action, he doesn't seem to have a lot presence. Also, I absolutely hate the shoulder/cape treatment on the costume.
Hmmm. Maybe. They've definitely got the problem that having Superman on the show sorta upstages the main character, Supergirl. I thought a good way to have him on board without him drawing too much of the spotlight would be to have him get "de-powered" somehow.
I like this take on Supes a LOT. Maybe the best I've seen. As for powered people, keep in mind the identity of the guy who was in the pod...
Eh, to each his own. In fairness, I haven't seen any complete episodes, only the clips that have been released. Maybe he'll grow on me.
Okay, Supergirl just full on confirmed the existence of Batman (not just Wayne) in the CW Berlanti-verse While discussing the appearance of a new crimefighter in their city, Guardian (unbeknownst to her, Jimmy Olsen) she expresses skepticism about trusting a masked vigilante. After a bit more banter... "My cousin worked with a vigilante once, tons of gadgets, lots of demons, vigilantes are nuts" (I'm such a sucker for this sort of thing!)
Berlanti-verse crossover began tonight, though really only involved the tag at the end of the episode. Question #1 - if it's an "all hands on deck" situation, why not take Mon-El and Jon with you while you are leaping between Earths?
Nope, wasn't explained. It's casually referenced that it hurts Vibe to open and go through portals, so number of people going through must be taxing as well.
Enjoyed it overall. Well played on all accounts from an actual sensible story (for comic book worlds) to the obvious fan service (anyone catch Ray commenting near the end that Kara "looks just like my cousin" )
Plus Mon-El is still working out if he wants to be a hero or not. As for Jonn, he might still be weak from
Saw "Powerless", last night. Ehhh...*wavey hand* Cute, bordering on cringe-y sometimes, hope it's just the pilot finding its legs, and it gets better. I'll give it 4 more episodes to improve, since there's nothing else on Thursdays anyway.
got halfway through, wasn't impressed BUT given the Adam West voiceover, I'm totally willing to see this as set in the Batman66verse and that makes it more tolerable.
Kevin Sorbo and Teri Hatcher will be Mon-El's parents on Supergirl. http://www.cbr.com/supergirl-kevin-sorbo-teri-hatcher-characters-revealed/
Black Lighting character breakdown and synopsis. http://www.cbr.com/black-lightning-character-breakdown-synopsis/ No clear official word if it'll play in the Arrow-Flash-verse, but I can only assume. Only I-Zombie doesn't, and that's because it's Vertigo.
Cress Williams is Black Lightning. http://www.darkhorizons.com/cress-williams-is-dcs-black-lighting/ Apparently, he's on a bunch of critically acclaimed shows I never watched. Well, I'll know who he is now.
