1) Spell it out in the rules. Then ban people ho break the rules. Do not make catch all phrases oprn to interpretation.

2) I don't know what you are having difficulty with but this has nothing to do with GT. At all. Why are you bringing up something a totally different poster did, and was punished for, when the topic is GTurner?

Are you confused and think GT had something to do with that? Are you deliberately trying to conflate the two different people? If not what is the point in bring up unrelated cases other than to distract people.

To elaborate, I still think this safe space bull shit is disingenuous nonsense designed simply to censor opposition. Word forge has survived without it for a very long time and it is perfectly obvious that the sudden push is both politically motivated and deliberately word to be as open to interpretation as possible.

You exaggerate too much. Paladin and Mrs A were the only major losses. Volpone has spent years flouncing and decrying Wordforge's demise and he would have found another excuse anyway. Ramen was always a bootlicking toadie. El Chup left in so many words because we wouldn't outright ban you specifically. I honestly don't know who the other three were you're referring to.

We had a guy get called Kikey Mikey for years and not one person stepped in to end that, because Actormike. Why the hell should someone be subjected to that? FWIW, there really is little justification for keeping gtardo banned when we've opened the doors to let Ramen and Volpone back after the shit they both pulled, and I said as much in the Shelter.

To give a brief history of Wordforge's founding, it's always been billed as a free speech board, with public populace doing the heavy lifting of getting rid of the trash. There's been some abuse with that, namely from the late @Sokar who prided himself with running off pussies back when the board's owners were more conservative and far less impartial.

But there's also been many a conversation that's come about from a tangent from the original topic, and we all get to call the cat a bastard without fear of reprimand barring issues of personal info and doxxing.

I get why some want to fight to keep it the way it is, but the Internet isn't what it once was. We lost one poster last month who saw the rash of racial "protesting" and wanted nothing to do with us. He was a founding member, the same as Paladin.

The tone deafness bugs me as we already have moderatef forums and the red room is supposed to be a free speech zone. The ownership has already proven they will abuse the rules as much as possible so I see no reason to give them yet another chance. I mean the dumb asses still are unable to admit GT did not break any rules so we know their judgement isn't sound.

So now it is jusy a question of if I stick around and tacitly lend approval to their changes or if I make a principled stand saying I do not want to stay at a Word forge which is fundamentally no longer the free speech zone we have known for the last decade plus .

If you want to take over for Gul and/or ShootER and have your name and money tied to the board if the ability to use racial slurs are so important to you, then by all means pony up. Show us how impartial you are, especially after your well-documented history of demonizing anyone that disagrees with you on any political issue.

As for gturner, let's consider this:

Dayton was banned for being a twat at TBBS. He stupidly admits on Wordforge that he uses mods as weapons to shut down conversation. T'Bonz, the admin, is a poster here and reads such comments and naturally is not going to give him a second chance to be a cockmaster.

I speak for everyone here when I assume no one blames T'Bonz for keeping him out even if he may or may not have gotten tossed for being unpopular.

So why would anyone except any different when gturner makes a comment on another board about being a shitstirring troll? His very posting at TK indicate him getting board until a couple posters fell into the trap of responding (albeit with far less effort than some of us), then off he goes into his usual twisting and turning since he has another audience.

It's hard to make a case for the guy, aside from the very slight possibility of Paladin returning as a result.

Paladin didn't leave over Rule Eight either. Would you like to try a third name?

And in this list of eight lost posters whose names you won't disclose, are you still including El Chup, who left because the owners wouldn't make a rule targeting your posts?

Ramen can post pictures of an actual lynching, dinner can call muslims animals, Dayton can derail every thread, volpone can spam up the board with the n word, but let gturner talk about Hilary too much and he must be PERMABANNED for the good of the board? I don't know why anyone thinks Ramen should be let back in. I understand that allowing Ramen but not gturner to return doesn't make sense, but it isn't the gturner half of that equation that is obviously wrong.

I'm still torn on gturner's ban, but I do think that his trolling was much worse than practically every other troll's. If you like, you can say he was 'better' at it. But frankly, almost all other trolls don't actually want to take down the whole board. They're running a sideshow and understand that it's just that, dependent on the main event continuing. His presence really did hurt all, not many or even most, but all serious threads in the Red Room. Debate really has improved greatly with him gone. Add to that that this was his clear intention as he has now stated, and I tend to think it's a judgement call that the owners had to make. That call could have gone differently, but someone has to make it, and they made it this way.

The question that needs to be asked I guess if if the board as a whole wants to remain or encourage a free-for-all atmosphere. I'm not talking about the staff as much as the board as a whole. The last month aside, this place is way more mellow than it once was and the overall patience for flies in the proverbial ointment is less than it once was.

Hell, even Troll Kingdom isn't much of a troll kingdom anymore, which the current owner mentioned when Volpone and Company showed up.

It was just a bad time for someone to suggest that we get rid of him and we were hasty. We were burned out after the election, or at least I was after seeing the other asshole circle around him like a troll god. Maybe Ramen and M. Bison would have brought their 4chan shtick here regardless, but I can't even fake being sorry they left over gturner.

I was around for the Kikely Mikey stuff though didn't take part in those rep wars. Also, I have a fairly thick skin and likely wouldn't go crying to the mods if someone said something mean to me on the internet. He can forbid being called a cracker!
