Well then stop responding to such posts as if you have read them fully, because they are clearly beyond your reading level. Holy fucking thread derail, Batman.
What about the French connection to Mexico at that time? Wasn't he also a Hapsburg? A French/Spanish reconquest of Florida and New Orleans while reclaiming part of Texas would've been a strategic wet dream for them. I'd also suspect that the eventual western border with Canada would've been a little further south as well-at least the western border states worth. The USA separated and without a completed rail corridor to the Pacific is eventually shut out by Spanish California and British Columbia making contact somewhere in Oregon. IT would've been interesting to see how the west shaped up in general for the plains Indians. Would the remnants of the C/USA have been able to kill them off fulfilling manifest destiny or would they have even tried with there no longer being an American Pacific coast to spread to?
Probably, but will we ever know for sure? More importantly, what does that have to do with anything? I just feel like, as a protester, this guy sucks.
Good point. I'd forgotten that the French were at war with Mexico at the same time that the US Civil War was going on. If they had taken over Mexico and stayed, then allied themselves with the Spanish (who'd been kicked out by Mexico in 1821) that could've been a formidable force.
Really? I feel like it's amazing. First thing to make me laugh in days. I might be a tad delirious though.
Yeah, it's the same as the guy who followed Ted Cruz around during the primaries carrying a sign that said, "TED CRUZ LIKES NICKELBACK". Both signs indicate that there's something very wrong with the person whose name is on them.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/25/us/politics/refugees-immigrants-wall-trump.html?_r=0 Looks like "bad hombres", will be the new "der juden". Not like you weren't warned.
Yeah, enforcement of America's criminal laws sounds like, so, mean. Ho hum, wtf is happening to the country, yawn. Otoh, woo-fuckin-hoo, the US government will not enforce any kind of tax against US people or companies regarding Obamacare. If ever there was a crap tax that should never have been passed, let alone enforced, it's the teeth of Obamacare, and now, ding dong, the wicked tax is DEAD. Yee haw !!!!!! Same goes for the penalty tax if you didn't have health insurance in 2016. No tax owed, due, assessable, or to be paid. Fuck 'em, Treasury's gouging deeply enough into taxpayers already. In fact, the government's been instructed that in any dispute between taxpayer and government on Obamacare to find in favor of the taxpayer. Suck it, Obama. Suck it, Roberts.
Holy shit. http://crooksandliars.com/2017/01/breaking-entire-state-department The entire six-man management team at the State Department just resigned.
Cool, then they can't claim unemployment. Probably were gonna be fired soon anyway, and if not, career bureaucrats are among the biggest pieces of crap on our taxpayer-funded payroll anyway. I spent my first five years as an attorney working for the US government, and early on you could spot the useless colleagues that would stay in government, and the talented people that would joint the working-class after a few stints.
Hello wall. Bye bye sanctuary cities. There will be some heads exploding with this. http://www.dailywire.com/news/12794...m_content=062316-news&utm_campaign=benshapiro
A friend of mine who's a former journalist posted that on Facebook with the comment, "A self-draining swamp! Love it!"
Except SCOTUS has made clear that the president can't punish cities states in that manner. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...r-on-sanctuary-cities/?utm_term=.4c461fefc5a0
Trump is going to get pissed when he learns it'll now take 2 years instead of 1 to implement policy changes. And on the time it will take the litigation against said policy to work it's way through the courts and 2020 is here before you know it.
See, I don't understand how this is supposed to work. How are sanctuary cities not complying with federal immigration law? Is there a federal law that says a city's law enforcement has to enforce federal law? Because I didn't think a municipal or state law enforcement agency was allowed to enforce federal law, much less compelled to.
What a poorly written opinion piece. To believe the claims it makes you would have to believe the federal government cannot Constitutionally put in any requirements for people who receive it's money. We know it can. Also, if you think Republicans aren't going to campaign on this, as they have been doing for years, and won't pass legislation through Congress to support it then you don't live in the real world.
Reports now reduce the number to four, and the White House is saying these resignations were tendered as part of the normal process of a changing administration some weeks back and the White House chose to accept them, rather than this being a sudden walkout.
Were we reading the same piece? That read quite well and took great care to point out why it's unconstitutional when the president does it, but not when Congress does. Now whether Congress decides to make it legal is another question entirely, but that wasn't the point (and it's not like Trump has submitted legislation for Congress to consider on this).
You were asking me about whether state and local law enforcement is allowed to enforce federal law? or required to do so? I do not know. I just assumed that since all federal laws supercede state and local laws that would be the case.
Why does Federal laws superseding local laws mean that local law enforcement are required to enforce them?
