Remembered a few more - David Dunn! Well, you could argue he always HAD his powers, but blocked himself from realizing it. And Martin Stein (Firestorm) would count, though he's sharing the equation with the typical fit young guy. Most of the examples seem to be TV or lit, rather than comics themselves, though. Assume the comic writers wanted (or were told) to play to the younger readership hence super-teenagers like Spidey or the X-folk. Even folk like Banner, Tony and Richards are only meant to be 30ish (which might negate the David Dunn example too).
whoa - does the black guy wearing yellow on the right side have a soft-serve chocolate ice cream cone on his head?
Dana Carvey's "Middle Age Man" on SNL. - Tuckerfan Mike Meyers was "Middle Aged Man" if this clip is what you are referring to. Dana Carvey was of course the Grumpy Old Man which was awesome BTW! https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/middle-aged-man/n9951
Amazon is doing an animated series of "Invincible". Here's the voice cast. Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson J.K. Simmons as Omni Man Sandra Oh as Seth Rogen Gillian Jacobs Andrew Rannells Zazie Beetz Mark Hamill Walter Goggins Jason Mantzoukas Mae Whitman Chris Diamantopoulos Melise Kevin Michael Richardson Grey Griffin Max Burkholder https://www.comicbookmovie.com/comi...-reveals-full-star-studded-voice-cast-a166165
Oh! Right! I just did a huge binge for my blog of a bunch of movies I missed in the last 10 years, and I stumbled on to something. "Looper", is a superhero movie in disguise! Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis are normal humans, but they have to stop the rise of a super powered villain. So, retroactively add that one to the pile!
Sylvester Stallone will be producing and starring in "Samaritan". It's not adapted from anything, it's from scratch, so no details yet. http://www.darkhorizons.com/stallone-turns-superhero-in-samaritan/
Nexus. Nexus would be awesome. Supposedly there was a Space Ghost movie in development, but I've heard nothing about that for a while now.
New superheroine comic! Recommended for @FederalFarmer It's genuine - https://edition.cnn.com/2019/02/25/politics/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-comic-book-trnd/index.html But they didn't show the Wonder Woman style outfit dammit!! Plus, does she seem a bit... umm... paler in the comic?
They've got a director, Macon Blair. http://www.darkhorizons.com/macon-blair-to-helm-toxic-avenger-reboot/
Do parodies count? Fuck it, it's my thread, parodies count. Octavia Spencer, and Melissa McCarthy are going to be in "Thunder Force". It's a Ben Falcone one, not a Paul Feig one, so it's got a 50-50 chance of even being watchable. It's superheroes, so I'll keep my eye on it regardless.
Just finished off Umbrella Academy!! Awesome! Loved it! Buuuut...I think I like Doom Patrol a smidge better. I think most people who see both are gonna flip a coin on that.
Amazon has a series, I think, coming called The Boys that looks interesting. https://www.polygon.com/2019/6/17/1...er-amazon-release-date-garth-ennis-karl-urban
