Multiple new Star Trek series in the works

THAT has potential. A Vulcan practitioner of Suus Mahna, wandering from planet to planet in his her Kolinahr robe, walking the universe and getting into adventures. Her name could be T'Caine. Of course, as a practitioner of Vulcan martial arts she would be... fit, let's say, (even pleasing to the eye, perhaps?) and to fight she would always want to shuck that cumbersome robe. That's where we learn how little Suus Mahna practitioners wear under their robe, because, well, Samurai don't feel the cold, or some shit like that. Of course, violence is always the last resort. Logic rules over all, and that would be the moral of every episode: after T'Caine disrobes and kicks everyone's ass with Kung Fu! Suus Mahna!

This could be the best Trek series ever made.

Just do an anthology series.

Here's an idea: an anthology series, which appears to tell non-interconnected stories. Then, after two seasons, you have a "big event" movie where it's revealed that there actually were connections between all the stories. Done right, it could be a hybrid of what Marvel is doing with it's MCU and TV programs.

That's a good idea, but they'd have to spend a year or more beforehand working out all the various story lines and how they eventually come together.

Well, despite the article's interpretation, the actual quote references the world of today, which could just mean Picard's dealing with politics and empires that look more like 2019 than they do like 1989. That's not the same as the usual ST pattern of having episodes that focus on racism, environment, technological privacy, etc.

What with being inundated with politics and a political slant to everything, 24/7, I'm not sure I'm onboard with a Picard series that's about... politics. There better be a lot more to it than that.

It doesn't need to be anti-SJW, but it also doesn't need to beat me over the head with Trump hate. What it does need is good scifi with morality tales, exploring, oh I don't know, seek out life and new civilizations. Stuff like that.

Not really an anti Social Justice Warrior position but "A Private Little War" did have Kirk in his argument with McCoy provide justification for the Vietnam War. He didn't say "Vietnam" outright but he did refer to the "Brushfire Wars" which was long a coded term for Vietnam.
