People pay for sex for various reasons. I remember when actor Hugh Grant was caught with the pretty unattractive hooker in a car and people wondered why he would be paying for sex when he had a smoking hot girlfriend at the time (Elizabeth Hurley who was also known to be into some kinky stuff by her own admission like belonging to the "paddling clubs'). It was pointed out that many men liked to have sex without any feelings of personal obligation being made upon them. Emotional, social or otherwise. If all you have to do is pay money for services then you are under no obligation to listen to the womans troubles or care one bit about how they feel.
Like Charlie Sheen said to judge once, "I don't pay them for sex. I pay them to leave." The dynamics and motivations of both sex workers and their clients are poorly understand by society and often falsely stereotyped, despite how these activities are far more ubiquitous and commonplace than "decent folks" care to admit.
You mean like these guys? https://www.foxnews.com/us/wall-str...titution-sting-that-ensnared-robert-kraft.amp
Yeah but what I saw said that the person was well known. I took that to mean someone known nationally by the general public. Those guys aren't known by the general public.
"The dynamics and motivations of both sex workers and their clients are poorly understand by society and often falsely stereotyped, despite how these activities are far more ubiquitous and commonplace than "decent folks" care to admit." - Fruitloop Is that what your defense attorney told the jury? Sounds pretty convincing to me! Better than anything my public defenders ever came up with.
Seriously, how dumb can he be? Uber rich 70 something year old caught in a cheap prostitution ring. Wonder what his 39 year old girlfriend thinks? Oh what does it matter? She's probably more upset that he didn't keel over so she could win her jackpot.
Because that "consensual" thing is pretty shaky when you break down how many of these places operate. They aren't always a safe place from which to operate for girls who make a choice to work in the sex industry, far from it. Human trafficking is rarely if ever something which operates in a manner which can truly be characterised as having been entered into freely and with fully informed consent. Some level of coercion is commonly involved, not least in terms of controlling the workers' access to finances, documentation and even the most basic liberties. That doesn't even begin to address the intimidation, blackmail and outright violence which is commonly employed. Often what is actually happening is more akin to slavery or at the very least indentured servitude where the worker is financially tied to their employer by virtue of debts incurred for accommodation, food and transport, not to mention being heavily tied to other forms of organised crime.
Jussie Smollett has taught me that I ought not believe crap about crap until the news is at least two weeks old. So, setting alarm for March 8th, 2o19....
Which is probably all a major factor in how many videos were made. Bear in mind they weren't specifically gunning for Kraft, they were looking to make as strong a case as possible against the human trafficking ring. By any reasonable measure Kraft seems small change by comparison.
The sex trafficking bust happened and made the news a few weeks ago. The release of names and arrests is only now happening. Probably to ensure they arrest the right people.
Question: Why would anyone want to see Kraft's 70 year old wrinkly twig and berries? If I were on a jury, I'd vote to convict just for having to see that! The sex worker, would of course, get an acquittal.
