Because Jeremy Corbyn was a weaker candidate in every single way possible, and that's not saying much Also maybe a terrorist sympathizer Boris was a classic hold your nose and vote candidate. Don't forget a lot of you Americans just did that for Hillary
The conservatives gained, what, 50 seats? People who never voted Tory in their lives voted for them? I think Corbyn's unpopularity contributed, but it looks like there was much more to Labour's shellacking than that.
So you don't see any irony in making this statement? "Sorry if that doesn't fit into your binary, limited and narrow thinking." Because from my perspective, it seems like you decided on a very binary line.
We're talking about two entirely different things @Diacanu can only see things via a narrow, binary and limited scope of left and right, black and white - he thinks because you may support something that he deems conservative, then you must support all things he deems conservative. The mind of a child is an extraordinary thing Meanwhile, the British election was for all intents and purposesjust between two different entities - I mean who's going to vote for say the Brexit Party or the Liberal Democrats, honestly - and I made a choice given the options presented. Labour and Corbyn would have been a disaster, I firmly stand behind that. I'm also not saying that Bojo and the Cons will be amazing either though I mean Corbyn, c'mon
The derby and monocle in my av were still in fashion the last time many of the other UK districts didn't vote their Labour MP (i.e. pre-war). As one (probably "conservative" fwiw) English commentator put it on twitter: 'many people who want economic redistribution don't also buy into social issues, identity politics, immigration, and multiculturalism. Open borders, toxic masculinity & transgender bathrooms - those issues are a threshold for the new left. ' ecky used to speak eloquently about it (the mistake of calling all those who might support Brexit as "racist" etc.). And also part of the historic vote had to have been backlash against the "betters" and Mays persistently ignoring the 2016 referendum (the kind of stuff we see here from matt or more politely spot). [I guess when ecky left his last job instead spending more time at Wf as he predicted he might do, he went the other way.]
Speaking as someone who has no vested interest in UK politics (other than enjoying following UK politics and thinking Brexit is a terrible idea) that clip doesn't seem any different from dozens of other viral videos from Parliament from any politician from any party. I've seen Corbyn give some good speeches, and he doesn't seem all that bad (unless one's politics are completely opposite to his, which goes back to the binary thinking...)
That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying there are two terrible options with one that is marginally better than the other. We are increasingly being presented with situations like that and it sucks You’re so partisan and married to your party you can’t see it, hence the binary
I’ve seen him make some really bad ones Listen brexit was likely to happen either way. At the very least there would have been another referendum and I was never entirely convinced the UK would vote overwhelmingly against it. It looks like most of the UK agreed given the historic losses the Labor party just endured For me personally it’s not ideal but let’s see what happens - I’m hoping for the best but i don’t think it will be the worst - England has endured much more hardship than this, i mean c’mon. Talk to my grandma who missed a nazi bomb by a few hundred feet
It’s pretty obvious you prefer one party over the other But i don’t think you’d vote trump in 2020 because that guy is a disaster. Maybe I’m wrong though, who knows
Translation- The whole "dying without meds", thing won't effect me personally, so fuck do I care? Wheeee!!! Tralalalala! Tralalalalaa! *Skips down the yellow brick road*
This is pretty funny coming from the guy that literally has never contributed anything to society except shitty movie reviews You know that it’s impossible to take you seriously right? You’re nothing more than an overgrown child I’m embarrassed for you
I'm more embarrassed by those who think "hasn't contributed anything to society" is a yardstick for taking folk seriously. From the viewpoint of the supposed "higher ups" like Trump, YOU'VE never contributed anything to society. But I bet you've paid more of your paycheck as taxes than Trump. And I take you much more seriously than I do him. I still think you're a twat. But I don't dehumanize you for what job you do or how much you get paid.
Me- Your ideas are doody. Rightforge- YOU'RE doody! Me- That didn't make me wrong about your doody ideas. Rightforge- YOU'RE doody! Me- Huh.....so you think that's how debate works, don't you? Rightforge- YOU'RE doody! Me- Pretty much my whole journey with these knuckleheads.
I've contributed far more than "just a bunch of movie reviews", I just refuse to brag. So when rightforge unloads that crap at me, it doesn't phase me, and I feel kind of sorry for them. Kind of. They're still twats.
No, it’s impossible to take diacanu seriously. I used to think he was funny but he's actually a hate filled, immature little man who's angry at at his shortcomings and thinks the world owes him something. You can tell that Wordforge is all he has, it's pretty sad - I'd feel sorry for him if he wasn't such a high and mighty prick
This is an outrageous lie. All you do is take a persons post and edit it to say something stupid so the other lefties will kiss your ass. There is no going back and forth with you. Here's a sample: https://wordforge.net/index.php?posts/3205873/
See? No editing. Even resisted the urge to insert a sob smiley. Cuz your post is the sob smiley. Hey, instead of whining and crying about me, howabout someone tell me how Brexit is gonna be great? Someone who isn't unhinged like Dinner.
No, a joke is knowing Brexit is going to suck, and helping it along anyway. There's nothing "mature", or "complex", about fatalism. Your condescending is cover for your cowardice. Own your fuckup.
Nothing's happened yet to own, Mr I'm Here For Serious Discussion I'll tell you what - I'll do what you say when you're able to qualify for a mortgage, deal?
