Actually, they're the same inside. The color of the shell makes no difference. It's just a matter of preference. Americans like white eggs; French people like brown eggs.
This who pandemic is the most scathing indictment of Trump yet. This isn't Mueller report. This isn't the Ukraine Deal. This is as clear cut as you* can make for the selfishness, incompetency, and pure malice of the Trump administration. If you think the President has been handling this great from day 1, you have drunk so much Kool-Aid that you need to start running into brick walls. *the general "You", not you specifically*
Dont worry, @oldfella1962 and @Zombie will be around shortly to tell us no alternatives wouldv done better.
According to the colleague in India I just spoke to, their luck is turning officially today, with huge new numbers of cases being reported. They only had the tests at state hospitals for a while, which have such bad hygiene that no one wants to risk going there. Only now are they measuring their case numbers realistically.
Just got some interesting -- and rather alaming -- information about the number of cases here in France. I was communicating this morning with a friend who is over in the most heavily infected part of France. She mentioned that three-quarters of the people in her church are infected (even though tomorrow will be the second Sunday in a row that all churches have been closed by order of the government so it has been nearly two weeks since they were together) and that her husband is sick as well. She described his symptoms, and it sure sounds like Covid-19. So of course someone (there were several of us in a video-conference) asked her if he had been tested and confirmed as having it. Her answer was kind of chilling: "They aren't bothering to test any more. The instructions we have are to not bother the authorities, unless the case is serious enough that it requires hospitalization. The authorities are just too overloaded to bother with everyone." Which means that the figures for France are seriously underestimated. On another level, and even more alarming on a personal level, a close friend (from the same area of France) who has been seriously ill with it for a couple of weeks now is at the point of death. There is less and less hope. He is an elderly doctor, who caught it about three or four weeks ago already.
That's what happens when you have a Commander-in-Chief who's functionally illiterate and demands national security briefings be given to him in one-page PowerPoint presentations with lots of pretty colourful graphics.
The Alcohol & Gaming Commission has basically said it will yank the liquor license of any restaurant or bar that remains open during the state of emergency.
Sorry fake news must have got me, I heard she got teh aids. More seriously, my disparaging comment about Merkel referred to her relative obscurity, and her irrelevancy to the planet - I suppose an avid fanboy (outside of euroland) could dig up info about her each week to prove she was still breathing. Anointing this mediocre failure the 'leader of free world' was such a ridiculous troll I simply reciprocated in kind. : ) As I already observed not long ago - US and China won, and now we're just picking teams.
I've been following the live stats and was thinking that France must've been succeeding with containment because their case numbers haven't budged in several days. I think the active cases numbers are probably no longer meaningful, that there are MANY more cases than those officially counted.
I agree thoroughly, and yet huge numbers of Americans are so delusional that they persist in thinking that Donald Trump is 'the leader of the free world'. But you're right. He is (at best) 'a mediocre failure' rather than any kind of leader.
I dunno, I kind of think of him as a "leader" in a sense of the old Pete Seeger anti-war anthem "Waste deep in the Big Muddy and the big fool said to push on."
Remember when we were thinking about $2,000 a month per adult would be a LOT of money (and it is) to funnel to the American people who need food, and shelter, and medicine? Remember? Yeah, well: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/econom...nd-additional-1-trillion-a-day-to-large-banks Federal Reserve to lend additional $1 trillion a day to large banks Socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the poor.
Germany has just had a big spike in the number of cases. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...rus-cases-rise-by-2705-to-16662-idUSKBN2180FS
