I have seen similar disclaimers on reputable websites selling masks. Unless the masks have been evaluated by the FDA, they legally cannot claim the masks will protect you from anything. Even if the masks have been found to protect you (but not as well as an N95 mask) manufacturers will no doubt want to put that kind of warning on the boxes to stave off any potential lawsuits.
Trump unveiling a project which is estimated to cost billions, whilst explaining in the same sentence that it doesn't matter because the virus will just go away. The GOP, the party of fiscal responsibility.
well Mike's Doctor Fauci quote nailed it! If the more well known & popular doctor said it, then that's the only opinion/advice we need.
"Popular"? Dr. Phil is popular. He's also an asshole, but never mind. Let's see you knock down Fauci's credentials and experience with something other than
On the other hand, he's one of the top experts on infectious diseases in the world, so if you don't like what he says about infectious diseases, I would suggest you ignore it...or better yet, do the opposite of what he says.
I've just been told by a friend that Fauci can't be trusted because he and Bill Gates, as partners, own all the patents on any vaccine that may be created.
Gates is poised to lose billions fighting this disease. He’s building a bunch of vaccine plants to manufacture any vaccine that’s discovered and he knows that some of them will be useless when a vaccine is found because they won’t be able to manufacture the right type of vaccine. He thinks that it’s more important to cover all bases from the beginning and worry about what to do with the unneeded plants later. Someone wanting to profit off of this disease wouldn’t do that. They’d simply wait until we knew what kind of vaccine was going to work and then start building plants. Which would mean that it’d take longer to begin mass production.
All I'm saying is Dr. Fauci isn't the only game in town. Nothing wrong with getting a second opinion or viewpoint.
Okay, go find out what someone with same (or better) qualifications as Fauci has to say. If you want someone who disagrees with him you’re going to be looking for a long time, or settling for someone who isn’t qualified to diagnose a hangnail.
He won't. (A) He's too damn lazy; (B) he can't even use the quote function. How the hell is he going to do actual research? He'll post some lame-ass blog he found on Yahoo! I think if he can walk the walk instead of just whining, he should take @Man Afraid of his Shoes's advice and do everything Fauci says he shouldn't. Frankly, I don't get him. He's working. His life is not impacted in any way, except that he had to wait outside to get into Home Depot. But unless/until someone he knows personally gets sick, he'll continue to I really think staff should name that smilie^ after him.
well folks I am doing everything Fauci says we should. I never claimed I wasn't. I don't work from home because there are ZERO work from home positions in my company. I wear a mask in stores. I keep six feet away from people. I'm just saying there may be more workable measures too that balance reasonable safety with not putting millions of people out of work. There is "more than one way to skin a cat" as they say. And regions, towns, etc. vary greatly throughout the country. Rules and advisories change weekly from zip code to zip code as needs & conditions dictate. You can take COVID seriously without living in fear. It's not binary!
They must be either skipping animal testing, or running a phase III/IV (safety/efficacy) combined trial on a shortened timeline, while simultaneously mass manufacturing. Mass manufacturing while running the trials is a very good idea, but I don't know about the shortened testing period.
I read something about the shortened testing but I can't remember the exact details or where I read it. I think it was because we already have vaccines for different strains of coronavirus and the variations in this one aren't so great that they felt that they needed to run the whole gamut of testing as they usually do. After all, this isn't an entirely new type of virus (like HIV was) so they have some idea of what they need to do to make a safe vaccine. How true that will turn out to be remains to be seen.
What a bitch. Wants her cake and to eat it too - and that includes not accepting the responsibilities that having rights entails.
